The Harris-Walz campaign beggars the meaning of irony. In an effort to look and sound competent, Harris unveiled her diabolically crafted economic plan on Friday. Purportedly, she intends to solve the problems that she and the decrepit sock-puppet Joe Biden created. In typical liberal fashion, the mainstream media complex is pretending Kamala never existed before her Democrat party coronation. Once an absolute pariah, spitting disjointed hooks like a cybernetic impression of a rap artist, Kamala is now a heroine. We’re witnessing the enthronement of a court jester.
Prognostication is usually a fools errand, but an iconic image of the investured Kamala, complete with a golden nimbus floating majestically atop her head, dripping sensuously with sweet anointing oils, is all but assured. It’s a pretty safe bet, since they feted Obama with a saintly aura.
Harris is the next patron saint in a long tradition of Democrat party polytheistic worship of the state and its panoply of holy paragons.
Only in Hollywood or liberal party politics can one be taken seriously for releasing a plan to address the economic torpor one is responsible for creating. Harris is responsible for massive increases in prices, which are a hidden tax imposed on the most economically vulnerable. She’s responsible for a 47% increase in eggs, a 51% increase in gasoline, and a 22% increase in average rent. These are hardly luxury items or a tax on the rich. It seems Democrats are content to soak the lower and middle classes, so long as they can maintain the illusion of compassion. Fundamentally, this is a result of two Harris calamities.
First, the astronomical increase in the cost of goods and services is a direct result of the Harris-Biden administration’s policy of spending like drunken sailors. Inflation decreases the value of your dollars, inflating the prices of staples like milk and eggs. It is solely the result of the spending policies that emanate from Washington, D.C. Inflation is not a product of corporate America raising prices to gouge consumers.
The only entity that has the power to print money is the federal government. Therefore, the federal government is the only entity capable of producing inflation.
It is not an oversimplification to say the Harris-Biden administration is directly responsible for the overall increase of 20.2% in goods and services.
Second, the destruction of American energy independence under the Harris-Biden administration, resulting in the 51% increase of gasoline and 32% increase in electricity costs, results in higher prices to the consumer as producers struggle to move goods to market in an environment of massive energy cost increases. The math is very simple. As we are forced, by Kamala Harris, to pay for more for imported fuel, everything in our national supply chain costs more.
Harris’ proposed solution to skyrocketing grocery prices and increases in rent make her inept tampering with the economy seem like the inspired economics of Adam Smith. The operative word in Harris’ economics is “control.” Though people may balk at terms like socialist or Marxist, control is always the objective of collectivist economic policy. Price controls on food will, as history has demonstrated, result in complete catastrophe.
Profit margins in the grocery business are already razor thin at one to two percent. The immediate effect of federal government imposed price controls will be the decimation of farmers, who are already being crushed under the weight of Harris-Biden’s punishing energy policies. Banning fracking, the exclusion of the vast oil potential under ANWR, and the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline are the primary reasons for America’s energy problems.
Small independent farmers will be the first destroyed as their product prices will be held lower than exploding energy costs. Generational farms are already teetering on the verge of disintegration. Large corporate concerns will gobble up the wreckage and, in turn, be consumed by government as corporations falter under the weight of government enforced losses.
The same fate will befall small mom and pop grocery stores and farmers markets. With their extinction, black market food suppliers will spring up, just as in Venezuela and every other country foolish enough to embrace socialism. Ultimately, the chain of producers and suppliers will collapse, and Harris’ government will snatch up the means of production, just as she’s threatened to “snatch” patent rights. The end state of that doomsday scenario is famine and starvation.
Think it can’t happen here? That’s the kind of willful naiveté that has been the precursor to every city state or national extinction event in history.
Furthermore, Harris-style rent controls have produced the great urban slums. New York, Detroit, San Francisco, and Chicago are all monuments to socialist experimentation and colossal failure. Another great irony is Chicago’s hosting of the DNC. It’s a denizen of Democrat failed policies that have produced a staggering murder rate — a hideous laboratory of social experimentation that fills city morgues every weekend with young and old alike.
Harris will impose strict controls that ignore the costs of new construction and the maintenance of existing multi-family dwellings. Rent control is the most powerful disincentive to modernization or repair. As any New York City landlord can attest, government control destroys the ability to generate enough income to pay for maintaining an investment property, which leads to squalor and living conditions not fit for an animal. But, frankly, Harris is simply too stupid to fathom any of this.
Beyond her plan to destroy the rental housing market and your ability to obtain food, her history at the border foreshadows the coming obliteration of our national identity. But, no worries, Kamala will cackle her way through it all. Her Democrat cronies will nestle with her in safety, behind the same walls and phalanxes of law enforcement that currently surround the Democrat National Convention. Beware, if you try to cross that border without an I.D. You’ll be swiftly deported to a Windy City jail.
