You’ve likely heard the phrase, “If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.” Seems like good advice, especially when the hole is of your own making. But watching the Democratic Party’s ongoing meltdown—highlighted by their most recent “off the rails” DNC meeting—it’s clear they’ve lost the shovel, the ladder, and the will to climb out.

Let’s be clear: it’s not hard to fix the Democratic Party’s problems. They know exactly what’s broken. They just don’t want to fix it.

Instead of offering ideas, vision, and solutions, they’ve tripled down on their Trump Derangement Syndrome. A recent DNC event—meant to be a serious discussion of strategy and policy—turned into a carnival of anti-Trump hysteria. That’s not a platform. That’s a group therapy session.

Want to fix your party? It’s simple: adopt some common sense.

Start with the economy. Recognize what works: low taxes and minimal regulations. It’s not rocket science. When you stop punishing businesses with red tape and confiscatory tax rates, they grow. When they grow, they hire. When people are working, they earn, they spend, and they prosper. That’s called a “win-win-win,” something Washington used to understand before progressives made prosperity a dirty word.

But today’s Democratic leadership doesn’t want prosperity—they want control. They want power over your thermostat, your gas stove, your car, your paycheck, and even your pronouns. And that brings us to the next point.

Stop pretending men and women are the same. They’re not. They’re equal in value, equal in worth—but fundamentally different. It doesn’t take a PhD in biology to understand that a man shouldn’t be in a woman’s locker room. Women and girls deserve private spaces where they can feel safe and respected. Democrats used to champion women’s rights. Now they’re too afraid to say what a woman is. That’s not progress—that’s delusion.

Here’s another basic principle: good and evil exist. Recognize it. Stop defending criminals and start prosecuting them. Quit wringing your hands over “root causes” while people are shot in broad daylight and stores are looted in major cities. Promote what is good. Punish what is evil. It’s not that hard.

Then there’s the border. America is a sovereign nation. That means we have borders. And those borders need to be secure. Every country on Earth protects its territory—except, apparently, us. The former  administration has turned our border into a welcome mat for lawbreakers, traffickers, and terrorists. It’s insane. You want to fix the country? Start by enforcing the law and defending the nation.

Next up: stop wasting money on nonsense. Don’t lecture us about fiscal responsibility while you fund drag shows in Pakistan or research projects on transgender squirrels. Funnel that money into programs that work—programs with actual return on investment. Veterans’ services. Infrastructure. Education that teaches reading, writing, and arithmetic—not radical ideology.

Want to show voters you’re serious? Stop the corruption. Clean house. Get rid of the grifters and influence peddlers. Be honest about Hunter Biden’s laptop, about insider trading in Congress, about bureaucrats who weaponize the government for political ends. If you want credibility, start with accountability.

Support the police. That shouldn’t even be controversial. The vast majority of officers are good people who risk their lives daily to protect their communities. When you demonize them, you demoralize them. And when you demoralize them, crime explodes—just ask Chicago, L.A., or New York.

And finally, fund the military. Not the bloated, woke Pentagon that’s more concerned with pronoun training than battlefield readiness—but the men and women who will stand on a wall and defend this nation with their lives. They deserve leadership that prioritizes mission over virtue signaling.

The American people aren’t asking for miracles. They just want sanity. They want a government that works, a paycheck that stretches, a neighborhood that’s safe, a school that educates, and a country that protects its values and borders.

These are not extreme positions. These are mainstream convictions. These are the values that built America and can rebuild it again.

But if the Democratic Party continues to ignore them, continues to chase the approval of TikTok activists and ivory tower academics, continues to shove their fringe agenda down the throats of working-class Americans, they will become irrelevant—not just in this election cycle—but for the next millennia.

We are watching a party self-destruct—not because it lacks intelligence or resources, but because it lacks the will to be honest. The will to be normal. The will to lead.

And here’s the kicker: voters see it. They’re not fooled. They’re not distracted. They know what’s broken. And they’re tired of being told that they’re the problem because they believe in common sense.

The fix is easy. But first, the Democrats have to want it.

So far, they don’t.
