Josh Hawley Alleges This Is Why Mayorkas, Wray Skipped Senate Hearing

Republican Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) has a strong inkling about why Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray skipped a Homeland Security Senate hearing— and the reason won’t be shocking.

Mayorkas and Wray were scheduled to attend a hearing before the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Thursday— one day after Tren de Aragua gang member Jose Ibarra was convicted by a judge on all counts of murder.

Hawley went on a tirade through social media, asserting that Mayorkas and Wray are "both unfit for office" and that their absence was them giving the "middle finger to the American people."

Hawley alleges that Mayorkas and Wray refused to show face because of criticism they would likely face over the verdict. As a result, the Missouri Republican is calling on Committee Chairman Gary Peters (D-Mich.) to subpoena their public testimony.

He asserted that Mayorkas and Wray must be forced to testify publicly. He also called on the corrupt FBI director to resign before President-elect Donald Trump takes office in January for his record on illegal immigration and his hostile actions toward conservatives and Catholics.

Spokespeople for the FBI and DHS claimed that Wray and Mayorkas had already provided "extensive testimony” and, therefore, did not need to testify at the Senate hearing on Thursday.

The Republican highlighted all of the times Mayorkas lied about Ibarra, including when he claimed he had no clue how the illegal immigrant got into the U.S.

“Let's not forget who let him into the country," Hawley told Fox News Digital. ”Mayorkas lied about how he got into the country.”

Hawley also spotlighted that Mayorkas claimed that authorities didn't have information about Laken’s murderer, which, too, was false. Another lie the Homeland Security Secretary made was when he said he didn't remember the details— which, of course, Hawley pointed out that he did have critical information to the issue.
