Chris Cuomo Spars With Viewer Over Everything That's Wrong With This Country

Ousted CNN host Chris Cuomo sparred with a viewer during an episode of his YouTube show who claimed President-elect Donald Trump wouldn’t unify the country—and oh boy, did Cuomo put him in his place.

During a segment on the “The Chris Cuomo Project,” a viewer called in and argued that unifying the U.S. would not “be a priority” for Trump, claiming that the incoming 47th president is “very comfortable” with “division.”

Cuomo, a former Democrat who became an Independent, criticized the caller and suggested he doesn’t like Trump because of the feelings and negativity he feeds off of outside sources such as liberal media. He pointed out that during his first term in the White House, the president-elect had a “major initiative” to achieve “100%” popularity, which he did.

The reason that Donald Trump doesn’t stay with what got him here is because it won’t get him where he wants to be — which is what? Greatness. Donald Trump understands that he is not considered great in the pages of history; he is not. He is an asterisk, he is scandal, he is diminishment of norms. That’s what he is, and that is not what he wants to be. How do I know I’m right and not you? Well, one, I know him and you don’t.

He is best served by no longer being the spirit animal of the outraged in the right fringe, but somebody who wants to expand and grow. Because if he does that, he doesn’t need them anymore. He’s not going to get elected anyway — he’s got enough fans. You’ll see.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Cuomo appeared on Patrick Bet-David’s podcast and revealed who he voted for—and it wasn’t failed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Nor was it Trump.

Instead, Cuomo said he wrote in his disgraced brother and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s name.

“My feeling is this: America can do better than these two candidates. I'm not a Trump fan, and I'm not a Democrat. I think this country can do better,” he said.

Despite not voting for Trump, Cuomo sympathized with MAGA supporters, saying the entire movement has received unfair treatment.

“I think that the movement behind Trump is very real, it's been disrespected, and I think that's problematic for America,” he continued. “I don't have problems with people who see him as a problem and wanted somebody else, I get it. To me, I just believe the choices are beneath the standard of American leadership. I believe we have way better people to pick from.”
