With President-elect Donald Trump back in the White House, woke, elite, Hollywood celebrities are making good on their promises to boycott his second presidency by first saying goodbye to X.
Hollywood actress Jamie Lee Curtis announced her exit from the social media platform on Wednesday, asking God to grant her “the serenity to accept things I cannot change. Courage to change things I can.”
Although Curtis did not give an exact reason for quitting the social media platform, her decision comes amid Trump’s announcement that X CEO Elon Musk and GOP Ohio businessman Vivek Ramaswamy would partner to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a plan to streamline bureaucracy.
Curtis was one of many Hollywood celebs to decry Trump’s victory last week. She claimed that the president-elect’s win is synonymous with “tyranny” and a “draconian time” — especially for women’s reproductive rights and the LGBTQ community.

Former CNN host Don Lemon also deleted his X account on Wednesday following Trump’s announcement, saying he “once believed it was a place for honest debate and discussion, transparency, and free speech, but I now feel it does not serve that purpose.”
Lemon cited X’s new terms of service, which he claimed would mean that lawsuits would be heard in courthouses that are a “hub for conservatives.” He said it makes it easier for experts to “shield itself from litigation and punish critics.”
In addition, the U.K. publication The Guardian said it would deactivate its account on the social media platform X. The Guardian believes the negatives now outweigh the benefits of being on X and that resources could be better used to promote journalism elsewhere.
Vice President Kamala Harris used out-of-touch celebrities to prop herself up on the campaign trail and hope voters wouldn’t notice she had no policy plans that differed from President Joe Biden’s. However, Trump’s landslide win ends the Democratic Party’s use of celebrities to influence Americans who may not be caught up on the political scene and those blinded by Hollywood celebrities who claim to care about the lives of voters.
In the hours after Trump was announced as the official next POTUS, Hollywood elites cried out in despair, vowing to flee the U.S. in protest of his win. Among others, Cher, Barbra Streisand, Sharon Stone, and Ariana Grande claimed they would move to another country if Trump were elected. However, as far as we know, none of these woke celebs have yet to do so.
