Will Newsom Be the Last Democrat Standing By Biden's Side?

Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) doubled down on his support for President Joe Biden, dismissing reports he will replace him in the 2024 race.

Newsom, who serves as a surrogate for Biden, has refused to doubt Biden’s capability of serving in office for another four years despite multiple Democrats citing concerns about the president’s cognitive health.

During an interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, host Robert Costa asked Newsom what he does when he receives messages asking him if he’s considering taking Biden’s place as the Democrat nominee.

“Delete, delete, delete, delete. Thank you, delete, and rinse, repeat. I’m all in. No daylight,” Newsom responded.

“You never even engage in it privately?” Costa asked.

“I know one thing: everything you do in private becomes public. Even private thoughts seem to manifest publicly. So, not a chance,” the governor said.

Newsom’s classic good looks and charisma may have boosted his political career, but his liberal policies are destroying it.

In the past several years, Californians have fled the state in droves due to the state’s soft-on-crime policies, outrageous prices, its attack on parental rights, its woke ideology, and the thousands of illegal immigrants invading communities.

Newsom has tried to position himself as a strong Democratic leader. However, California residents view him as anything but that.

According to a study conducted by The Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, 47 percent of registered California voters disapprove of the governor’s leadership.

In addition, an Emerson College Polling survey found that former President Donald Trump would defeat Newsom in a hypothetical race by 10 points (46 percent to 36).

Newsom has been eyed as a potential replacement for Biden as the president faces scrutiny over his health.

As many of his Democratic colleagues join forces in urging Biden to step down, Newsom has remained a strong supporter of the president, refusing to speak ill of him.
