Trump Gave an Update on Whether the Philadelphia Eagles Will Be Coming to the White House

The one thing that may be more irritating about sports journalism is that fake news often spreads, as it does with regular news media, but there’s little to no accountability when the scoops are flat-out wrong. Oh wait; that’s exactly how the news media and sports journalism operate. I guess sports journos getting wrong only get some egg on their face. With the news media, entire institutions could be weaponized against political rivals. Yet, one bit of news about the Philadelphia Eagles was put to rest by President Trump himself yesterday.

It's happening: The Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles will be formally invited to the White House to celebrate their win in Super Bowl 59. Nothing is official yet, but it’s on the docket for the president.

There was talk about the Eagles pulling a Megan Rapinoe and refusing to go to the White House. That narrative caught hold with the usual anti-Trump clowns who applauded the fake scoop, which got obliterated by actual NFL insiders. Albert Breer, Adam Schefter, and John Clark, one of Philly’s best, all confirmed that if given the invitations, the birds would be flying to DC.
