Weekend Update is a cornerstone of Saturday Night Live. Yet, once again, we have an example of liberal hubs just oozing with hatred for people who aren’t like them. Also, liberals don’t know what humor is anymore, and SNL has been atrociously inconsistent for the past several seasons, but that’s a different matter.
On NBC's Saturday Night Live, Pete Davidson mocks GOP Congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw for losing his eye in war: “You may be surprised to hear he’s a Congressional candidate from Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie. I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever.” pic.twitter.com/krQwesqLAV

Anyway, the segment parodies current events. It was a precursor to shows like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report (when it was still on Comedy Central), but it took a nasty turn when cast member Pete Davidson mocked Texas GOP candidate and former Navy SEAL Dan Crenshaw saying, “You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie. I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever.”
Yeah, that was stupid. And even CNN thought the joke was out of line, disgusting, and displayed a total lack of respect for our wounded warriors and veterans.
As Beth noted, Crenshaw responded with class:
Good rule in life: I try hard not to offend; I try harder not to be offended. That being said, I hope @nbcsnl recognizes that vets don’t deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes.

At the same time, thanks again for adding another reason to never respect or listen to a liberal’s point of view on anything…ever. When you trash veterans, expect to be set aflame, which is going to be extra painful for Davidson, who got burned by this skit…and Ariana Grande.

Anyway, thank you for your service, Mr. Crenshaw. Also, vote Republican tomorrow, folks.
