The Clintons Have Broken Their Silence About Trump's Election Victory

This week, several former presidents dragged their feet when it came to congratulating former President Donald Trump on his reelection victory.

For example, Matt covered how it took hours for former President Barack Obama to deliver a statement congratulating Trump. He spent most of the statement gushing about Harris and her vice presidential pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and touting his own appearances on their campaign trail. Which proved to be fruitless in garnering votes, obviously.

The Clintons were no exception. Perhaps it's because former first lady Hillary Clinton lost to Trump in the 2016 election.

On Wednesday evening, Bill Clinton published his family’s statement on the results of the election.

Predictably, he opened up the statement by applauding Harris’ “positive-forward looking campaign” the statement read before wishing Trump and his vice president. Sen. JD Vance, well.

“We must remember that America is bigger than the results of any one election, and what we as citizens do now will make the difference between a nation that moves forward or one that falls back,” the statement added.

“We need to solve our problems and seize our opportunities together. The future of the country depends on it,” it concluded.

Last month, Townhall covered how Hillary Clinton took to X to call Trump a "fascist" and urge Americans to vote for Harris.

"Let's be absolutely clear so that no one is confused. Trump's rhetoric has become blatantly fascist," she wrote.

"All the warning lights for our democracy are flashing red. We must take him seriously and defeat him soundly at the ballot box," she added.
