Townhall has covered how illegal aliens who’ve come into the United States have been accused of all kinds of violent crimes against American citizens.

This week, for example, an illegal alien in Virginia was accused of running over Melody Waldecker, 54 and killing her after he stole her vehicle in a carjacking.

The suspect, 21-year-old Jose Aguilar-Martinez, fled the scene. He was located and arrested 45 minutes later, He was transported to a hospital after his arrest. He was evaluated and taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond.

Aguilar-Martinez is from El Salvador and is living in the United States illegally, the  Office of Enforcement and Removal Operations for Washington, D.C. confirmed.

This week, Fox News reported that another illegal alien, living in Texas, shot and wounded a police officer on Sunday.

The illegal alien, Venezuelan national Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez, 25, died during the shootout with San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officers. Right now, it is unclear if he was killed by officers or if he committed suicide (via Fox News):

The shooting began after the SAPD responded to a domestic violence call at around 3 a.m. Sources tell Fox News SAPD officers found the suspect lying in bed with a rifle.

The suspect began shooting at officers before they returned fire. A female police officer was wounded during the shooting.

Sources told Fox News that the officer was shot multiple times. She underwent surgery on Sunday morning and is expected to survive.

Chacon-Gutierrez was reportedly apprehended by Border Patrol after he illegally crossed the southern border into Eagle Pass, Texas in November 2023. He was released into the United States with a court date scheduled for April 2026.

In addition, a new bulletin from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warned border agents and other law enforcement agencies that Tren De Aragua (TdA), the largest criminal organization in Venezuela, gave its members an apparent "green light" to attack American law enforcement. This notice was directed at its members who have infiltrated the United States.

"Homeland Security Investigations reported that Tren De Aragua (TdA) criminal organization members in Denver have been given a 'green light' to fire on or attack law enforcement in Denver, Colorado," the message from HSI's Chicago office warns before adding "HSI New York reportedly received the same information" which is "deemed to be credible."

"As you may know, we have a TdA presence here in Chicago, so please be vigilant as you encounter TdA members or affiliates during your investigative and operational activities," the warning emphasized.
