'Weaponization of Government': Kennedy Now Under Investigation Over Something That Happened 20 Years Ago

In trying to convince his supporters to vote for Donald Trump in November, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reminded them it's the only way to get him to Washington, D.C. to help the Republican presidential nominee root out government corruption, champion free speech, and make America healthy again. He explained that Trump understood perhaps better than anyone why these issues are so critical.

"Remember, he was kicked off Twitter back in 2021 and he has experienced directly how government agencies are being weaponized to destroy the government's political opponents," Kennedy said.

But it's not just Trump that's experienced such things, of course. Kennedy, who said he has been censored for nearly two decades, saw just how many knives came out against him from the DNC when he announced his run and then became an independent candidate. And now, since joining forces with Trump, the government is being weaponized to go after him.

During a campaign event for the GOP presidential nominee in Arizona over the weekend, Kennedy told rally-goers he's now under investigation.

“Right after I endorsed President Trump, I received a letter from the [National Marine Fisheries Institute] saying that they were investigating me for collecting a whale specimen 20 years ago,” Kennedy said.

In 2012, Kennedy’s daughter Kick told Town & Country Magazine that her father cut the head off a whale that had washed up on the shore in Hyannis Port, Mass., when she was a child. The interview gained traction again recently after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ended his campaign and endorsed Trump.

An environmental advocacy group last month called for Kennedy to be investigated over the incident. The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund said in a letter to NOAA that it is “illegal to possess any part of an animal, dead or alive” under the Marine Mammal Protection Act and Endangered Species Act and that NOAA should open an investigation. "It's 15 years past the statute of limitations, but they're opening an investigation," he said. "So I wrote them a letter back saying you've allowed 26 giant offshore wind farms off the east coast, they've killed about 45 right whales, which are critically endangered, minke whales, dozens of porpoises and dolphins, and the environmental community is begging you and begging you to open up an investigation.

"So you're investigating the collection of a specimen from the rotting carcass of a whale that you think may have happened 20 years ago, but you refuse to investigate something that's happening right now," Kennedy continued. "And this is all about the weaponization of our government against political opponents of the party in power and it's dangerous for our democracy..."
