Indiana Politician Identifies as Woman of Color. Here's Why That's Not Sitting Well With the Left.

Wishtv.com

According to the left, men can be women and women can be men, science be damned. Not only does everyone have to accept this, transgenderism must be celebrated, too.

Most conservatives aren't going along with this, however. While Republican lawmakers nationwide are fighting back against the mutilation of trans minors and defending women and girls in sports, one Indiana politician looks to be pulling a page from The Babylon Bee’s playbook…and it’s enraging progressives.

Last month, Delaware County Councilman Ryan Webb posted an announcement about himself on Facebook that came “after much consideration.”

I have decided to come out and finally feel comfortable announcing my true authentic self. It is with great relief that I announce to everyone that I identify as a woman and not just any woman but as a woman of color as well. I guess this would make me gay/lesbian as well, since I am attracted to women.

Whew, that felt good to finally get that out there and start living life as my true self. I’m excited to bring some diversity to the county council. Until today we didn’t have any females of color or LGBTQIAPC+++ on the council. I’m glad that now we do!

To avoid confusion, everyone can continue to address me as Ryan or as Councilman Webb. I will also retain my my preferred pronouns of He/Him, however, this will in no way diminish my true identity as a woman of color. I’m excited to be a vocal partner of the LGBTQIAPC+++ movement. Who knows just how far we can take things, but I’m just glad that this is now possible so ANYONE can be ANYTHING or ANYONE they want.

God bless America!

*edit*

It has come to my attention that I am more than likely the very first lesbian woman of color in the history of Delaware County to ever serve on the Delaware county council. I am honored to be the one to shatter that glass ceiling. #GirlPower (Facebook)

Despite a lot of backlash and calls for his resignation, Webb has not backed down.

'To clarify, I never claimed to be trans anything,' he said. 'I simply expressed my own gender identity ... I'm being dead serious. This isn't a joke. I said what I said. I don't know what to tell you. You don't get to question me. You do not get to require proof from me. You were part of the movement that helped establish these rules and set the bar, OK? You don't get to come later when someone else joins the club that you don't want in ... You don't get to question how I identify.'

Webb said the matter was his own personal business.

Later Webb told The Star Press that the people who spoke against him have a right to voice their concerns. But he said he wishes they would step back and realize they are 'perpetuating hate, intolerance and bigotry towards me.'

'It's just another example of the intolerant Left and their ideology of contradictions,' he said.

Webb said he is not leaving the council.

'I would never resign my position on the county council,' he told The Star Press. 'That would be an enormous disservice to the thousands of voters who chose me to be their representative.'

He went on to say that how he identifies has nothing to do with his job on the council. (The Star Press)

"In the past two weeks, those intolerant, racist, homophobic, hate-filled lunatics have completely and totally dismantled their own ideology of love and acceptance for all. They destroyed everything they stand for by their own words and actions. They did it all on their own without any assistance. Oh, the intolerant left," he said on Sunday. "Mission accomplished."
