President Trump and First Lady Melania were greeted with deafening applause when they walked onto the field during the College Football National Championship game between Clemson University and Louisiana State University on Monday night.

The Associated Press reported that in addition to getting a standing ovation, attendees also chanted, "Four More Years!" and "USA! USA! USA!" when the first couple walked onto the field for the national anthem.

Trump thanked those in attendance for the warm welcome on Twitter.

The reception in New Orleans was vastly different from when the Trumps, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Reps. Steve Scalise (R-LA), Mark Meadows (R-NC), Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) attended the fifth game of the World Series at Nationals Stadium in Washington, D.C. in October.

When the jumbo screen showed the Republicans, the attendees chanted "lock him up!" and booed. But also with the group were five wounded veterans that Trump had invited to sit with him in the suite. The cold reception occurred just after Trump announced ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in a raid by U.S. special forces.

Trump was also widely applauded when he attended the LSU-Alabama Game in November.
