Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., tweeted Tuesday that she will “delivering remarks” on Facebook Live at 7:45 p.m. EST, more than an hour before President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address.

“It's critical we speak truth to the American people during this inflection moment in our country's history,” Harris tweeted.

Trump will give his address at the Capitol at 9 p.m. EST.

Sen. Harris announced on Jan. 21 that she would be running for the 2020 presidential election. The senator heavily expressed her disapproval for Trump, accusing him of being racist and xenophobic, as well as being desensitized to the needs of the middle class during the government shutdown.

Harris’s biggest issues include, but are not limited to, establishing a “Medicare for All” plan like the one co-sponsored by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act and promote pro-abortion measures.

Harris also plans to invite Trisha Pesiri-Dybvik to the State of the Union.

“Trisha was furloughed during the shutdown while still recovering from losing her family’s home in a California wildfire,” Harris wrote on her Facebook page. “She is the definition of resilience and I'm proud to have her here with me.”
