Even as the Trump administration makes enormous strides in ending and reversing the Biden border crisis (see below), huge obstacles and challenges remain -- many of them in the form of internal domestic resistance to enforcing our laws. There are political leaders across the country, almost exclusively in Democrat-dominated jurisdictions, who overtly prioritize protecting illegal immigrants from consequences over national sovereignty, the rule of law, and public safety. This lawlessness is a point of pride, wrapped in terms like "progress" and "empathy." It is eagerly extended to people who've violated our laws, very much including illegal immigrants accused and convicted of additional serious felonies. Beyond anti-enforcement 'sanctuary' policies, there are also pro-illegal immigration vigilantes who are brazenly interfering in federal law enforcement operations.
This is not free speech or mere political disagreement. It's a crime. Arrest them:
The Community Self-Defense Coalition said they are training anti-ICE activists in other sanctuary cities, hoping their group becomes a model across the nation.

Meanwhile, it seems as though there's been progress in identifying and punishing leakers who appear to have compromised previous raids:

Blue city mayors will not quit their disgraceful pro-illegal-immigration and pro-crime pandering, from Chicago to Los Angeles:

These underminers may slow the deportations, but they can't stop the administration's massive success in stemming the tide of illegal entries. Look at these stats:

BREAKING: New Trump Border numbers.
* CPB encountered only about 15,700 migrants on the southwest border in the entire 30 days since Trump’s inauguration.
* This represents the lowest 30-day number of southwest border encounters since April 2017.
* Encounters are down 94 percent from their high point of 263,900 in December 2023 under Biden.
* Down 91 percent from their 166,900 monthly average during the four calendar years of the Biden administration.
* And down 80 percent from their average of 78,200 during nearly the last quarter century from 2000 to 2024.
This past Saturday, just 200 migrant encounters were logged across the entire southern border, which officials say is the lowest number in a decade-and-a-half. As we've noted in a few recent posts, one of Donald Trump's strongest areas of public support is on tough enforcement and mass deportations. On this important priority, the public is on his side. I'll leave you with another demonstration of that reality:
