The perils of mass migration from dangerous parts of the world came to the forefront once again after an attack on a Christmas market in Germany left at least five dead and several hundred others injured.
The alleged perpetrator was a Saudi Arabian migrant, who was given refugee status by the German government in 2016. While the motive of the suspect has not yet been made clear, the attack will surely fuel further controversy over Western leaders’ decision to import large numbers of foreign nationals from parts of the world known for being hotbeds of terrorism and Islamic extremism. Like much of Europe, Germany has greatly suffered from the excesses of mass migration over the past decade. According to Politico, “While foreigners make up about 15 percent of Germany’s population, they accounted for a record 41 percent of all crimes in 2023.”
Attacks against Christians and Jews in Europe have significantly increased in recent years, with more than 2,400 anti-Christian hate crimes reported in Europe during 2023, including a staggering 105% increase in Germany. As these numbers and the latest attack demonstrates, it has become increasingly dangerous for Christians and Jews to visibly live out their faith in Germany and throughout Europe. This is a direct consequence of the leaders of these countries throwing caution to the wind when it comes to accepting foreign nationals from parts of the world which are extremely hostile to Western values. For far too long, the mentality of European leaders when it comes to immigration has been that the sovereignty and safety of their citizens should take a backseat to their self-proclaimed altruism. Unfortunately, this belief system is not unique to European elites, but also held deeply by America’s ruling class.

Over the past four years, the Biden Administration has facilitated the largest immigration crisis in American history, allowing more than 10 million mostly unvetted illegal aliens to cross the U.S. border. Additionally, the Biden Administration has raised the cap on the number of refugees the U.S. annually takes in from 15,000 to 125,000. Many of these refugees arrive here from some of the most violent and dangerous parts of the world, and it is foolish to believe the U.S. has the capacity to vet and assimilate this many people on an annual basis. But, much like European leaders, the only concern for the Biden Administration has been importing as many foreign nationals as possible, with national security and public safety being, at best, a secondary concern. There is no other explanation as to why the current administration has released a record number of suspected terrorists into the country since taking office, while dramatically increasing migration from parts of the world where Islamic extremism reigns. While many Americans don’t pay too close attention to the happenings in Europe, they should take note of this latest incident of apparent violent extremism in Germany. Because of the Biden Administration’s malfeasance, the possibility of similar attacks happening in the U.S. has increased. Unlike much of Europe, however, Americans came together in November and forced a different direction, re-electing Donald Trump to the presidency.
Because of Trump’s election, America’s future looks far better than Europe’s at the present moment. Trump’s resounding election victory was the strongest statement the American people could have possibly made in defense of their sovereignty and security, and the message they sent will resonate around the world. Beginning early in the new year, the incoming Trump Administration will reverse many of the Biden Administration’s most lawless policies, which will presumably include reducing the refugee cap to a far more manageable number, and cracking down on dangerous people attempting to cross the U.S. border. Better days are ahead for American immigration policy, but that does not mean the damage done and the danger posed by the Biden Administration’s reckless immigration policies will disappear overnight, and it does not mean something like what happened in Germany could not happen in the U.S. given the large number of dangerous foreign nationals who are already here. What tragedies like the Christmas market attack in Germany do demonstrate is just how necessary the President-elect’s agenda is for U.S. national security.
Mass deportations of illegal aliens, strong border barriers, and strict restrictions on migration from dangerous parts of the world are not discretionary, they are essential. What happened in Germany is what happens when these policies are forsaken, and their implementation is required in the U.S. to protect the American people from similar threats.
