Biography
Vickie Yates Brown Glisson is the former Kentucky Secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services where she managed the state's largest Cabinet overseeing healthcare and human services for the Commonwealth. During her time in office, Secretary Glisson did not shy away from tackling some of the biggest issues in Kentucky, including reforming the child welfare system and working to establish family drug courts. Secretary Glisson also implemented nationally recognized programs and saved Kentucky over $30 million in reforms and efficiencies.
A nationally recognized health lawyer and an active member with the American Bar Association (ABA) Secretary Glisson formerly chaired the Health Law Section and is an emeritus member of the ABA standing Committee on Medical Professional Liability. She has served on two advisory councils for the National Institutes of Health: Human Genome Research and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. Vickie also previously served as President and CEO of Nucleus where she advised the University of Louisville in the areas of health and innovative research.
