It’s time we leave the chaos, depression, and lockdowns to Washington and get back into appreciating life. While Democrats are doing what they can to shut down celebration and normalcy, most Americans have had enough. They want back into life and an end to over-controlling politicians who are trying to get in the way.
Watching hundreds of unmasked fans march down the 18thhole to see Phil Mickelson turn back the clock to win the PGA Championship at 50 years of age was a sight I will not easily forget. The crowd watched silently in anticipation and then shouted for joy when Phil’s ball found the bottom of the 18thhole. The celebration was on!
It seemed more than just a major golf tournament celebration. All watching there and on the screen were ushered into what many hope can become a long-awaited summer of joy. People have been ready to breakout, to put away their masks, and take back the normalcy of life after COVID.
President Biden can have his perpetual masking and try to use Dr. Fauci to justify more of his unnecessary controls, but most Americans will have none of it. Let them lockdown themselves behind their capital fence to protect us from their madness. We want freedom from government, not more government. We want to keep more of what we earn, not higher taxes to pay for unnecessary government entitlements. Get out of our way, and let our free-enterprise system deliver an economy that will lift all boats.
Have you noticed? More citizens are moving out of Democrat-controlled blue states than are moving in. They are tired of government overreach and higher taxes used to transfer their hard-earned money to those who choose to remain dependent on government. If the left wants to let more illegal aliens in and give them money and hotel lodging before shipping them to other states, let them fund charities that will pay for it. Just stop electing politicians who promise to take the hard-earned money of others to pay for the left’s costly entitlements that citizens ought to pay for themselves.

We are also tired of Biden’s proposed climate change policies that are supposed to protect us from changes that aren’t even expected to have any impact for a century. The left wants to take away fracking and has already stopped pipelines that provide the inexpensive fuel citizens need to get to work and to travel. Now, that we are free to get out of our homes, we want lower, not higher gas prices.
It's hard to have a summer of joy when you want to close down patriotic Fourth of July celebrations like those planned for Mt. Rushmore. Patriotic Americans are ready to fly our flags, have our barbeques, and party! Those that remain concerned about their vulnerability to COVID can stay inside. We all know how to take necessary precautions, but we also see that states with more open policies have no worse COVID morbidity than those with more extreme lockdowns.
If the Democrats were smart, they would have made freedom in 2021 the reward for a year of self-imposed isolation. You could have encouraged states to follow Florida’s lead—protect the people most vulnerable and free the rest to live and work. Under Gov. Ron DeSantis, Florida was free to live, and her citizens paid no greater price for that freedom. They trusted their citizens and God to do what Americans always do—they chose life, neighborly love, hard work, and the American Dream.
So let’s not wait for permission from Washington and over-controlling politicians. Like those who took to the links to celebrate the Mickelson victory, let the summer of joy begin. Sure, germs will still be out there, but by taking the available vaccines and exposing yourself again to life, your body can get busy producing the antibodies you need to keep yourself safe.
Being born into this world doesn’t come with a warranty and a guarantee; life has always had its risks. Hey, if you drive your busy city freeways, you take risks every time you get into your car! When it comes to abortion, the left loves to claim, “My body, my choice!”
In the summer of joy, let’s claim that freedom. Whether the left likes it or not, most Americans are breaking free. Join us. Embrace life again, and let the politicians stay inside until we can elect them out in 2022!
