Anti-Social Media – CNN
When proven liars judge others as insufficient truth tellers.
Donie O’Sullivan is at it again. It almost seems he is working behind the scenes to undermine his own network on a weekly basis. This time, the man who laughed with Taylor Lorenz about swooning over an admitted murderer was challenging some members of the “new media” who have been invited into the White House press room.
In speaking with these three select reporters, he dares to posture as if he is speaking down to them, asking if they each consider themselves to be a “real journalist.”
Allow a polite question: Who in the HELL is he to ask this of anyone?!

As Natalie Winters pointed out to him, these are the people who covered up Joe Biden’s mental slide. O’Sullivan is the one who, one week ago, was incapable of seeing any violent extremism coming from the the left, and he works at the network that in January was found by a jury to have defamed a plaintiff by delivering false news reports.
He can bugger off with this condescending line of questioning.

Took a decade to end up with nothing.
The rejuvenated defamation trial Sarah Palin brought against The New York Times has concluded, and the jury has found in favor of the news outlet. We would like to say this brings an end to the litigation, but this case has been appealed by Palin repeatedly to get to this stage, so who knows very well if it is over or not?!

Low-Octane Gaslighting – CNN
The one accused of wrongdoing proves there was no wrongdoing, by denying there was wrongdoing.
Jake Tapper delivered a lengthy segment on the resignation of “60 Minutes” producer Bill Owens, as we covered yesterday. Tapper looked into the matter and came away with a defense based on questionable details. He states that the accusations are baseless – based on the explanation from a source inside the production. Oh, so the show accused of journalism malpractice is denying it. That seems sufficient enough for Mr. Tapper.
Then he states “legal experts” have explained the details of this case “will not withstand scrutiny.” Does he bring on or even name these experts? Nope — just take his word for it. He also declares legal voices “left, right and center, say that this lawsuit in a court would certainly fail – spectacularly.” Only problem with this boastful comment; CBS News tried to have a court dismiss the case, but it was ruled to have enough merit to move forward to a trial.

"The lawsuit was baseless. He” — Bill — “wouldn't apologize. He wouldn't bend. He fought for the broadcast and for independent journalism and that cost him his job. It's shameful."

Gilded Reframe – CBS NEWS
Look, if the story seems too good to be true…
On the very lengthy list of journalism grievances since Trump came back into power was the changes imposed on the media rooms at the Pentagon, with long established news outlets in a snit over being rotated out of those media enclaves. So when a CSB News producer heard that one of those rooms was being renovated to become Pete Hegseth’s personal makeup studio, it had to be reported instantly.
Jennifer Jacobs pushed this claim out, but it seems as if she would have benefitted by maybe speaking with someone in authority, rather than resorting to the time-tested practice of going with an anonymous source.
But soon after this latest hit on Secretary Hegseth, things changed. The DOD posted a picture of the spartan digs and it was far from impressive, sporting a couple of TVs and a lone directors chair, with even the alleged “makeup lighting” absent.
Then suddenly, Jacobs’ breaking news was toned down, with the claim that initially the renovation was to cost tens of thousands of dollars but the plans were scaled back, and now Hegseth is also said to be doing his own TV prep work.
So in other words…this was nothing, at all.

Reporting on the Mirror – MSNBC
When those denying biased reporting the loudest admit to doing the same.
Jen Psaki was on the Semafor podcast “The Grill Room” with Dylan Byers, and she was discussing the functions and format of her network, and in the course of doing so, was a bit too honest. She was discussing the construct of the average MSNBC audience, and on the subject of coverage of President Trump she had this admission:
We're going to talk about what the opposing party is up to, in terms of Democrats, and we're going to talk about future leaders and things. And, we're also going to talk about Trump, and it's typically not going to be positive. I don't think anybody watching expects it to be positive, right? There is not like a North Star thing written on a card and everybody does it slightly differently… that's fairly the vibe.

Pre-Written Field Reports – THE NEW YORK TIMES
Isn’t it positively brilliant, the way he resorted to the same name-calling seen for generations? Genius!
When the word came out that codger comedian Larry David wrote a New York Times editorial lampooning Bill Maher for meeting with President Trump, the initial reaction was a shrug. But then the press were collectively swooning over his feature, as if he had dared to blaze a new trail in journalism. Except all David managed to do was scrawl what was little more than a lengthy Godwin’s Law attempt at silencing dissenters from the left.
Wow, Trump is Hitler. We have not heard that since…(checks watch)...we began writing this entry.
