Legalized Press-titution – MSNBC

  • But it is wrong to suggest you are in bed with them, correct?!

We have all heard how Fox News is somehow corrupt, or at least compromised, for being so supportive of the Republican Party. Funny we never hear that similar complaint lodged at those networks working hand-in-hand with the Democrats.

The Dems are currently holding their winter meetings to come up with a new chairperson as well as setting its agenda, and it has been hilariously bad. The officers and crowd were asked how many felt that Kamala Harris lost the election due to racism and sexism, and the entire panel and audience agreed. At the same time, the outgoing chairman declared that they should have stayed with Joe Biden and they would have won. As we said, hilariously bad.

But what is notable is how the entire affair is being staged by – MSNBC. Not that this stands as any type of surprise, but it is a rather blatant display of partisanship for an “alleged” journalism outlet.

In Memorium – NBC NEWS

  • Chuckles will be missed…we mean that; he delivered great material.

The announced departure we covered previously was made official today – Chuck Todd is leaving NBC News. The man who has been demoted repeatedly after running “Meet the Press” into the ground is stepping away. With some amusement, we see he is taking with him his namesake streaming show, “The Toddcast.”

This was the podcast, you may recall, where he admitted, with Jonathan Martin, to knowing for years that Joe Biden was sliding mentally.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – NBC NEWS

  • Surprising that such an authority on the subject would miss the disqualifying news…about this very subject.

NBC News correspondent Jacob Soboroff went to rival network CBS to pimp his border-immigration documentary with Stephen Colbert. Things did not go well.

First, Colbert began by saying, “Well, I assume this is being made before the second Trump Administration.” A cagey bet by Colbert, considering the doc was released before Trump had been sworn in.

Then Soboroff goes on to make a claim about the Trump policies that makes him sound authoritative on the matter. The keyword there – “sound”:

What they ended up doing is lean into these aggressive policies in order to continue to scare people away. They think it works, and let me tell you: deterrence doesn't work. If it works, people would stop coming to this country.

For somebody who positions himself as comprehensive on the subject of border crossings, one would expect him to have seen the reports that Trump’s policies have already slowed down border crossings to a fraction of the levels seen just months ago during Biden’s permissive stance on the border.

The Deadline Gambit – THE BALTIMORE BANNER

  • We guess it if they had contacted him it would have interrupted the hit job.

A sports scandal is erupting in Baltimore where the star placekicker for the Ravens, Justin Tucker, has been accused of inappropriate behavior while attending massage therapy sessions. The local paper, The Banner, allegedly has numerous witnesses attesting to this.

Tucker has come out with a statement categorically denying this is the case, and in his message, he lays out not only his defense but illustrates how The Banner played the game of building up the entire story but giving a scant amount of interest in speaking to the accused kicker.

He states how he was made aware it was investigating him, but after he was the one to contact the paper, it still held back on what was the focus of the reporting, not revealing much until his lawyer was involved. Even then, he says, he was barely given a chance to comment on the accusations:

When they finally did provide some of this information, they gave me next to no time to provide a response – they had no interest in what I (or anyone else) had to say.

It is too early to suggest which side is the truthful party at this point, but based on the display of this typical slanted attack tactic seen in the press, we are certainly leaning in one direction for now.

Demolition Project – CNN / MSNBC

  • There is always the move to show reruns of “Dateline”...

The Nielsen numbers for January have come in, and the ratings in the cable news sector are…something else. Somehow, MSNBC and CNN have managed to perform even worse, hitting all-time lows for the month of January in a number of categories, especially the advertiser’s demographic. Meanwhile, Fox News is seeing its numbers grow, with a list of programs hitting historic highs.

The most telling detail is probably seen in the cable news audience share. Fox News is pulling in an audience that is more than DOUBLE the combined totals for both of its competitors.
