BlueAnon – CNN

  • Those officers identifying themselves are a real problem.

Consider a moment when you saw a film or TV show about some form of law enforcement. If there was a scene where law enforcement officers go into a building as a raid, what do you recall them wearing? Whether it is a branch of the Feds, a government agency, or all the way down to local police, you will likely see those involved sporting gear with letters indicating the office they are representing. Whichever acronyms are emblazoned in large letters such as FBI, DEA, S.W.A.T., and NYPD, all are familiar when we see them.

For the past week, we have seen more regularly ICE, and possibly CBP in news feeds, as the Trump deportations effort is underway. One other acronym seems to find this regular enforcement announcement on the togs of officers problematic. At CNN, Kasie Hunt was discussing ICE agents having been instructed to have their gear prominently displaying their agency – for the TV cameras.

You mean there is some sort of message desired to be delivered in these raids? We cannot process what this could possibly be intended to deliver, Kasie.

Reporting on the Mirror – (formerly)CNN

  • Oh, Abilio, we hardly had the chance to…no, no, that’s not right – we know you fully by now.

It has become official: Jim Acosta has left CNN after a 17-plus-year run.

In his parting message, he went on about lies and tyrants, a neutered parting shot at the man he managed to help usher back into the White House, made more laughable that he said this on the network just found in a court of law to have committed fake news and defamation.

He also announced that he would now be found on Substack, where he implored people to follow him, but we sense a conflicting message. After all, if he warned people away from the lies doesn’t that mean fewer will follow him?

Pre-Written Field Reports – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Clearly, someone adept at this position is throwing them off their game.

This afternoon we saw the first-ever press conference for new White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. While the uniquely overflowing press room was filled with curiosity, Leavitt came out confidently and displayed a real skill for this job.

Leavitt faced questions from a press corps uniquely focused on the pause in governmental spending, a curious revelation for the newsmakers to be concerned about. Leavitt was comprehensive in her answers and was not shaken once in the near hour-long presser. Maybe the biggest thing that confounded the journalists was they were dealing with someone sharp on the topics, quick with full answers, and able to speak coherently throughout. Quite a drastic change.

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – NBC NEWS

  • If only the journalist could explain to the public lacking this information…

As Tom Homan continues to befuddle the media by actually going out and capturing and deporting illegal immigrants exactly like he and President Trump promised to do, we see a great example of the grappling going on from NBC News Justice Correspondent Ken Dilanian. He commented on a press video of Homan on location during one immigrant roundup and delivered a few curious comments.

First, we are unclear about the comparison to Merrick Garland here, given that Homan is not the AG but serves as Border Czar – you know, the position granted to Kamala Harris but never actually employed. But about that section about the public being in the dark about Biden enforcing border efforts of his own; why do you suppose that is, Ken?

It strikes us as at least slightly curious that a journalist would be saying he knew about these actions but they somehow evaded being recognized by the public. Huh.

Both Kinds of Standards – THE BULWARK

  • It has been a problem for years, so why hasn’t Trump done something about it?!

Sam Stein was seen dutifully spitting out the latest Democrat-approved talking points. For days now, the Democrats and press have been wailing that Trump has not lowered grocery prices – you know, the issue they have denied during the entirety of Biden’s term and has been festering for years. Yeah, that was supposed to have been solved inside of a week.

The latest has been to specifically point out egg prices, and just as the likes of Chuck Schumer have engaged in this neutered hit job, there was Sam, following right along in compliant fashion.

Of course, what the journalist needs to do in order to try accusing Trump of not doing anything about the bird flu epidemic for…(checks our watches)...eight days, is to ignore that Biden completely ignored the issue as it was at least first reported to be breaking out in February 2022.

Race to the Bottom – NEW YORK MAGAZINE

  • So you DID find people of color at the gala, you just did not want to.

We are to the point now of just laughing whenever we watch the press trot out any of the impotent accusations about Trump that are not only ineffective but are essentially responsible for getting him back into the White House. Nazi, fascist, sexist, homophobe, elitist – pick the label, it is sure to peel off in moments and expose the vacant intolerance from the accuser. At the bottom of this list has to be “racist,” that long-expired charge that carries less weight than a sheet of wet parchment paper.

The New York Magazine still feels this is a valid charge, an apparent sign of its audience's desires, but the magazine has been called out for a dose of racism for erasing people of color in order to make its racism accusation. In displaying an image from one of the post-inaugural galas, the outlet had to crop out of the frame the minority individuals in attendance…in order to claim there were no minorities in attendance.

Making this all the worse, in its cover story about the supposed takeover of white culture in the GOP under Trump, it used a photo from an event that was put on by a conservative black influencer. This is utterly hilariously retrograde reporting.
