DNC PR FIRM – WHITE HOUSE PRESS OFFICE

  • Her final day was a truly historic event.

On the day of the deeply significant peace accord between Israel and Hamas, you would not have known about it if you watched the White House press briefing. One would have been right in expecting White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby to have been involved given the magnitude of the news, but he was not present in the afternoon presser, and Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had some rather dismissive words regarding State Department Spokesman Matt Miller.

John Kirby was not seen today because, we learned, KJP actually kept him away from the press room. The reason was that today marked the final press briefing for this administration, and Karine wanted to make today all about herself. The historic nature of the ceasefire pales in importance to KJP being lauded by her sycophantic crowd of reporters.

Legalized Press-titution – ABC NEWS

  • You do realize she is already in the PR business, right? She doesn’t need your inflating, Mary.

Falling right in line with Jean-Pierre's plan for aggrandizement was ABC’s Mary Bruce. She played right into the game plan with a fawning question on Karine’s tenure and then sat there with a rhapsodic expression as the hired mouthpiece stumbled through her answer.

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – POLITICO

  • We can assume the ending of these hearings is based on the result that was witnessed.

On Tuesday, Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth kicked off the confirmation hearings circus, delivering a calm and more than competent delivery, as the Democrats appeared like shrieking harridans. This result clearly did not sit well with Calder McHugh of Politico.

In his rundown of the Hegseth hearing, he displays the slanted hot takes of someone clearly leaning to one side.

  • The most troubled of Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees — entered the Senate crucible today.

  • The political stakes are too high — the Democratic base will tolerate nothing less and most of the GOP Senate lives in fear of the incoming president and the primary election challenges he might unleash on them.

  • Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) pressed Hegseth on whether he would resign if he drank in office (he declined to answer directly) and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) gave the former Fox host a pop quiz, asking him to name nations in ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations), which he failed to do.

McHugh does not mention how Hirono sounded so lost and meandering that it seemed like her first day in Congress, and that “gotcha” question by Duckworth was worthless, given that ASEAN is a purely economic body and the U.S. has no involvement in that Asian coalition whatsoever, so there is no reason at all to think it pertains to the Defense Department.

Reporting on the Mirror – CNN

  • Further proof the newsman is unfamiliar with the practice of research.

The defamation case against CNN is ongoing and things are looking somewhat bleak for the network. Based on the series of questions fielded from the jury this week, it appears they could be leaning toward a guilty verdict against the news outlet.

In one segment of the trial, Jake Tapper gave a video deposition, and in his testimony, he provided some curious claims. He stated that he was unaware of what his official title at the network actually might be. We are supposed to believe the guy who combs social media for the dropping of his name is unaware that he is listed as Chief White House Correspondent on his bio page.

Another unbelievable claim is that he stated, “I do not pay attention to ratings.” Please. The reason this line is not believable is that, as shown by Fox News, his social accounts have frequent mentions of the audience figures, both for his shows and others at CNN.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – THE NEW YORKER

  • Once again, anonymous sources are bigger than named individuals going on the record.

Jane Mayer is displaying a particularly negative focus on Pete Hegseth. She just finished sharing another drinking story about Hegseth, which is yet another anonymously-sourced claim that amounts to less than a shrug and then released her own piece about Pete’s past sexual assault accusation. This would be the incident where police investigated the matter and concluded no charges were to be brought. But today, he is regarded as guilty in the press.

Mayer claims that the victim of the alleged assault tried to reach out to a number of members of Congress but had been rebuffed by them. One of those was Susan Collins, and the senator came forward to completely dispute the claim by Mayer.

Then even more disqualifying, Collins issued the response she says that she sent to Mayer, and it was completely disregarded in the article.

Both Kinds of Standards – WASHINGTON POST

  • Four years of spiking prices is not nearly as bad as what could possibly take place.

Catherine Rampell is one of those journalists who suffers the more exposure she gets. One prime example is in her frequent appearances on CNN where she is routinely bested by Scott Jennings. For her latest, the television pundit discredits Pete Hegseth as merely being a TV pundit.

Then she went on to pen a column where she actually expressed concerns that Donald Trump’s policies could raise prices on American goods. Biden is leaving office with inflation over 20% higher than when he was sworn in, and all the while, experts like Rampell had been telling us to stifle our concerns, the economy was doing great.
