While Democrats run for power, Republicans still think that government is about running a country.
In one episode of ESPN’s The Last Dance, one of Michael Jordan’s contemporaries made an interesting observation. He said that Jordan existed to compete and win. He “happened” to focus his driven efforts into basketball. In the NBA finals, the ultimate competitor went 6-0. About a decade later, LeBron James stated that he and his fellow players were “entertainers.” And just as a Hollywood starlet can get into the news by either winning an Oscar or getting arrested for a DUI, an entertainer entertains whether he wins or loses. LeBron’s stats from NBA finals: 4-6.
Many Republicans were shocked that Joe Biden gave his son a complete pardon. The pardon was so broad that the pages on which it was written were nearly blank. Anything that he did or might have done or may have thought about in the shower is hereby forgiven and forgotten by the Department of Justice (DoJ). Donald Trump and many others predicted a pardon, in spite of the Biden White House promising that he would never give one. Note that Joe and his clueless spokeswoman made all of those promises before the election, at a time when the whiff of a pardon could have hurt Democratic turnout. Now that the election is over and he owes nobody nothing, Joe suddenly realized that his son deserves the broadest pardon in the history of the Republic. And it should not have surprised anyone.
Democrats want power, and one can only have power if he is in charge. If one is out of power, then he does not have a lot to do. Sure, he gets a congressional salary or the like, but without power, you cannot control the direction of the country. As many have pointed out of late, Barack Obama represented an inflection point for this country. I admit that I voted for him in 2008. He promised to radically change the country, and on that point he did not lie. Everything since Obama’s elevation to the presidency has gotten worse: race relations, the U.S.'s standing in the world, the economy, the military, schools, etc. Obama and those around him realized that if you want to change America, its role in the world, and its internal politics, you need to be in power. And when you are in power, you use it for your advantage, however unseemly or unfair.
Let’s look at just a little bit of the Obama-Biden-Pelosi axis flexing its muscles during the past decade and a half.
Recommended
*Nancy Pelosi removed Republican-appointed members of the J6 committee and replaced them with her own selections in an unprecedented move in order to control the narrative developed by this committee.
*Joe Biden unleashed his Department of Justice on his political opponent through unheard of legal theories both via DoJ and state proxies.
*He turned the FBI into a personal Stasi to go after Trump, his associates, Christians, concerned parents—anyone who might interfere with the program.
*The Hunter Biden laptop and corroboration from his business partners and IRS whistleblowers confirmed that “the Big Guy” was Joe Biden, and that he used his position as the sitting vice president of the United States to enrich his family.
*Biden bent U.S. loan guarantees to Ukraine to get a prosecutor fired for his investigation of Hunter’s Ukrainian energy firm.
*Hillary Clinton used her position as secretary of state to funnel money to the Clinton Foundation, and destroyed all email evidence though the material was subject to a congressional subpoena.
*Obama and Biden sent billions in cash to the mullahs in Iran in order to coax the terror state into some type of agreement. That money has helped fund the multi-front war against Israel.
*Both spent billions on “green” projects that benefited their friends and donors but produced very little for the American public.
*Obama famously told Vladimir Putin to tone things down so that he could get reelected in 2012, after which he could be “more flexible.”
*The Obama IRS demanded donor lists from Tea Party groups in order to impede their fundraising.
*Obama and Pelosi threw out 17 million primary ballots and simply kicked Joe Biden to the curb and ended up with Kamala Harris, who did not receive a single primary vote in 2020 or 2024.
And on and on.
The one theme that runs through the three Obama administrations (everyone under Biden and actually running policy was an Obama retread) is having power and exercising it. An open border tends to harm a lot of Americans through lower wages, less safe surroundings, and a changing culture. But having lots of new future voters was supposed to guarantee a Democratic majority for decades to come. Power. By demanding that the military integrate women into combat units and support the trans/pronouns nonsense, the White House has made the military weaker but fully under the cultural and social control of the president and his woke staff.
Since Barack Obama’s election, we have been witnessing the pages of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals come alive. The singular goal has been to obtain and keep power and use that power to advance the interests of the president and his party and not necessarily that of the people of the United States. Pardoning Hunter Biden helps Hunter and the rest of the Bidens by pushing their enrichment schemes further into the shadows. The people of the U.S. would be served by justice for all of the Bidens, but the Bidens want to go off into the sunset, and they have the power to make it happen. Many predict additional pardons for Joe Biden’s brother and maybe even the goldfish in the kitchen of the Rehoboth beach house. Democrats seize power, hold it, and wield it. The slow-walk of House races in California is simply to guarantee that they all go blue and not red.
Republicans need to remember that they have been given a mandate to make a serious course correction for the country. People want the country like it was before Obama: prosperous, respected, fair, and still the land where one can pursue his or her dreams. Success will help keep Democrats and their demented plans away from the levers of power that they have so badly abused during the past 16 years.
