Since last September, the House Ways and Means, Judiciary, and Oversight Committees have been conducting a joint investigation to determine whether or not Joe Biden should be impeached. Democrats have strongly opposed and criticized the ongoing investigation, insisting that the entire episode is nothing but politics. A look at the evidence compiled by the committees during the course of the investigation to date, however, strongly suggests otherwise – there’s not just smoke here, there’s fire.
Begin by asking the simple question – what do we know now that we did not know before the House committees’ investigation began?
For starters, we know now that the Biden family collected more than $20 million from foreign sources, just between 2014 and 2019. That period of time included years while Joe Biden served as vice president, and years while he was in private life after leaving public office – though, interestingly but not surprisingly, the money that seemed to gush from foreign sources while Biden was in office slowed to a virtual trickle, by comparison, after he left office.
We know now that virtually all of that money came from foreign sources of, shall we say, shady backgrounds – Russian and Ukrainian and Kazakh oligarchs, and Chinese Communist Party-affiliated Chinese business tycoons.
Worse, we know now that, contrary to his campaign trail protestations that, regarding his family’s overseas business transactions, “I have never discussed with my son, or my brother, or anyone else, anything having to do with their businesses,” Joe Biden spoke in person, and dined with, and spoke on the phone, with many of his son’s and his brother’s business associates.

We now know that Joe Biden lied to the American people when, on October 20, 2020, just weeks before the 2020 presidential election, as a candidate for president, when asked a question about whether there was anything unethical or inappropriate about his son’s overseas business dealings, he said, “My son has not made money in terms of this thing about, what are you talking about, China. I have not had – the only guy who made money from China is this guy [gesturing at Donald Trump]. He’s the only one. Nobody else has made money from China.”
We know now that the Bidens created more than 20 shell companies, most of which were created when Joe Biden was serving as vice president.
We know now, thanks to the sworn testimony of Hunter Biden’s business associate Devon Archer, that what those tens of millions of dollars went to purchase, what Hunter was selling to his foreign clients, was the “Biden brand” – as The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board put it, “the Biden family name and the political access it implied.”
Clearly, Joe Biden – by meeting in person with Hunter’s business clients, by joining them for dinner, or getting on the phone with them – was showing them that Hunter had access to him, and that, by going into business with Hunter, they, too, could enjoy access to him, the kind of access for which some people with resources are willing to pay millions of dollars.
But, wait, say the Democrats, you haven’t proven that any of those millions of dollars went directly to Joe Biden!
So what? As George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley pointed out in his testimony last September, courts have held repeatedly that to prove public corruption, one need not prove a direct benefit to the public official in question. Asked by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, “Can a benefit to your family be a benefit to you?” Turley responded, “It is. There has been a – repeated statements that you need to show that President Biden accepted direct money in order for this to constitute a benefit. Even under criminal cases that deal with bribery, extortion, and the Hobbs Act, the courts actually have rejected that. They have said that money going to family members is, in fact, a benefit … Obviously, the strongest case is if you have a direct payment. But this idea that you can have millions going to a politician’s family and that is not a benefit, I think, is pretty fallacious.”
For years, while Joe Biden was out of the public eye in the vice presidency, he and his family members abused his cushy gig. They sold his public office to foreigners needing access, and they did it all over the world – in Russia, in Ukraine, in Romania, in Kazakhstan, in China, and in Mexico. They did it for years, without anyone becoming the wiser.
If it had not been for the work done by the House Oversight, Judiciary, and Ways and Means Committees in investigating the Bidens and their activities over the last year, we never would have known the extent of Joe Biden’s corruption.
But now we do. And because we do, it is imperative – because Joe Biden abused his office to enrich his family, he is unfit for office now and in the future. Joe Biden must be impeached and removed.
And if Congress will not remove him, then We, the People will do so in November.
