I guess the problematic prosecutors going after President Trump think the fourth time's the charm. Last night, in the middle of the night while most Americans were asleep, the Fulton County District Attorney indicted President Trump. The entire process was political theater, not equal justice under the law. But what more can we expect, when prosecutors' sole goal is to “get Trump” and stop him from sitting in the Oval Office ever again? Let’s remember, both Jack Smith and Fani Willis had almost 3 years to charge Trump. Why wait until now? The clear answer is because President Trump is surging in the polls, not only crushing his Republican opponents by 40 points, but also defeating Joe Biden. Democrats fear they cannot beat Trump at the ballot box, so they are trying to throw him in jail on bogus, politically motivated charges. The prosecutor is unfair and biased. The process was political theater. The charges are bogus. The result will be the same.
Fani Willis is compromised. No reasonable or fair judge would think she could be impartial on this case against President Trump. And we have good evidence to believe this. A judge has already disqualified her from part of this case because she held a fundraiser for the political opponent of the person she was investigating. Willis has made inappropriate public statements, calling this a criminal case, even though the Grand Jury has not ruled on this. She has also commented on Trump’s state of mind. While subpoenaing Lindsey Graham to testify in this investigation, she shared a cartoon mocking him. Prior to the announcement of the indictment, her campaign launched a fundraising website, attempting to raise money from the charges against President Trump. No defendant could ever expect a fair trial with a prosecutor like Fani Willis. On top of this, who can forget the Grand Jury foreperson doing media hits with CNN and MSNBC during the investigation, talking about her dream of subpoenaing Donald Trump.
The entire court process during yesterday's indictment was disgraceful political theater. Someone from inside the District Attorney’s office was leaking out the timing to the press, when the Grand Jury vote was happening, and MSNBC even had the indictment count before President Trump’s lawyers and the American public. More stunningly, earlier in the day the Fulton County Clerk posted the indictment online, prior to the Grand Jury vote on the actual indictment. The clerk has refused to offer a satisfactory answer to this. Last night, Fani Willis also ducked this question. The indictment posted online “accidently” happened to match the indictment Willis released to the public later that evening. As Trump’s lawyers have correctly pointed out, the proposed indictment should only be in the hands of the District Attorney's office, and should not be in the possession of the clerk, or assigned a judge prior to the Grand Jury vote. Again, how can Donald Trump expect a fair process when timing leaks and indictments are posted prior to Grand Jury votes. Fani Willis is proving this is a political hatchet job, not a serious legal process.
Once again, the charges against President Trump are thin and bogus. The Georgia District Attorney is essentially indicting President Trump for challenging the results of the 2020 election in Georgia. Under the Electoral Count Act, Trump had every legal right to challenge the results of the election. In his personal capacity as an American citizen, he had every right under the First Amendment to raise concerns about the election. Does this mean that Fani Willis will charge Georgia citizen and election denier Stacey Abrams? Of course not, she is a Democrat. In fact, Democrats have objected to the results of the 2000, 2004, and 2016 elections. The indictment depends on clearly protected First Amendment activity, including Trump tweeting out for his followers to watch Newsmax, OANN, and RSBN.
Prosecutors in the cases against Trump, including Fani Willis had three years to bring charges against him. They waited until he was a declared candidate for President, surging in the polls, all while the election was well underway. This is all political, with the goal of keeping Trump off the campaign trail and in the courtroom. The end goal for these leftist prosecutors is quite clear: put Donald Trump in jail so they do not have to face him in 2024. The entire process in Georgia was political theater, from leaked Grand Jury votes, to leaked indictments. The American public will not stand for this. Every single time Trump has been indicted, it only solidifies his support. Joe Biden is a weak candidate, the Democrats and media know this. It is time for Republicans to unite behind Trump. The only way to stop the madness of government weaponization is to elect Donald Trump in 2024. The truth is, he is standing in the way of them coming after us next.
