Well that didn't take long. The venom and hatred from the far-left and the mainstream media for anything that challenges their beliefs is shockingly predictable. They just can’t stand it when a movie, book, play, or any other form of entertainment doesn’t conform to their Hollywood culture. They really, really hate it if the piece of art is the truth or based on a true story.

That's why they hate my play FBI Lovebirds: UnderCovers and the fact it is going to be on the main stage at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Feb 27th. It is a hilarious play about FBI operatives Peter Strzok and Lisa Page and exposes their scandalous text messages, which reveal a plot to stop the Trump candidacy and presidency. FBI Lovebirds: Undercovers stars Dean Cain and Kristy Swanson as Strzok and Page.

Since we announced we were launching a campaign to send FBI Lovebirds to CPAC, the mainstream media has lost their minds. A Twitter user named “Slave of Logic” wrote “Can we start a Go Fund Me to send one lucky Coronavirus victim to CPAC? I’ve got $100 to start it.” Aaron Rupar of Vox responded to a video of a Fox New segment about the play with “there is no bottom.” CNN analyst Susan Hennessey called it “disgusting and shameful.” And The Daily Kos even called for protests at CPAC of the play.

Let's just examine what they are attacking. FBI Lovebirds is not some fictionalized account of the Russia Collusion Hoax/Investigation. It consists of text messages between senior FBI operative Peter Strzok and Lisa Page as they were simultaneously conducting an affair and fantasizing about ending the Trump candidacy and presidency. It also includes the questioning and answers that the two faced in behind closed doors congressional questioning

It is verbatim - there are no additions - no extra drama. It is the truth and that is why the left hates it so much. And that is why it is so compelling.

Politico has called FBI Lovebirds: UnderCovers “Hamilton for the MAGA crowd” and Vice News said it is “edgy" and "the most dangerous play in Washington.” National Review said Cain and Swanson leave the audience “howling,” and The Federalist said the play is a “comedic hit.”

These texts are voluminous - In private texts to his mistress which he thinks no one will ever read, Peter Strzok talks about starting the Russia investigation into candidate Trump as an “insurance policy”. When Lisa Page expressed alarm about the possibility that Trump might be elected, Strzok pledged that he would “stop it”.

They openly talked about impeachment just days after he was elected. There are thousands of such texts in between the usual office politics with the added complication that they are having an affair.

This is what is really getting the establishment so angry. CPAC is a massive venue. During the conference, ten thousand people will attend - the main hall where the play will be staged can hold up to 3k people.

What they really fear is that over 600 journalists are accredited for the conference - many of them foreign press. They fear that non-partisan journalists will hear what was going on behind closed doors at the top of the FBI and be genuinely shocked.

Quite simply they fear the truth. They would love to stop the play being performed at CPAC. They are issuing their death threats and their media campaigns - one journalist has called for a boycott of Dean and Kristy’s movies. They want to shut it down - if this was a play about how bad Trump was or how great the anti-Trumper we would be drowning in funds. But because we are exposing the establishment we are forced to crowdfund to ensure that the play will go ahead. It’s expensive to take actors and directors and a set from LA to Washington for CPAC. But they will not succeed. FBI Lovebirds will be at CPAC on Feb 27th. The show and the truth must go on.

Phelim McAleer is the playwright of FBI Lovebirds: UnderCovers. To find out more about the play go to www.FBILovebirds.com.
