I saw someone say on social media that this is liberal America's Charlottesville event, and it's that and worse. Yes, there are Nazis involved, sort of. They may not don swastikas, but the hordes of anti-Israel activists that have turned Columbia University into a warzone ooze with the same hatred for Jews that permeated Germany circa 1939. What goes around comes around, and what's happening in Columbia and nationwide on our college campuses is the left's own "Charlottesville," albeit on a national scale.
Nazis wanted to annihilate the Jewish people from the continent of Europe first, along with other "undesirables." The pro-Hamas crowd lusts to see the destruction of Israel. They share the same intent, and both groups weren't so subtle about it.
We're still dealing with people who think Jewish people have no claim to this region of the world, where there are historical records stating as much. It's the flat-earther political debate of our lifetime.
These rallies may not have tiki torches, but the hatred of Jews emanating from these demonstrations is not so dissimilar from the right-wing goons who gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017 and chanted, "Jews will not replace us." The only difference is that neo-Nazism in America is an extreme minority. It's a confederation of losers who don't have a serious audience—they're all insane. And they have zero chance of influencing the wider audience.
What’s happening at Columbia is outrageous and un-American.

No student of any race or religion should have to leave campus because it’s become too dangerous.
The universities allowing rampant antisemitism to rage on campus must be held immediately accountable. https://t.co/MB8lpHlNl4
This is happening at @Columbia right now.

A pro-Hamas protestor calling on the Al-Qasam brigade (the military wing of Hamas) to kill Jewish students.
If you are not enraged by this, you can GO FUCK YOURSELF. pic.twitter.com/sw98mjNQKj
Here are some more videos from Columbia last night to make the point. One of them chanting “Zionists” aren’t welcome on campus. Another where the mob cornered some Jewish students trying to leave and started throwing stuff at them and yelling at them.

Protestors at Columbia are saying all classes at the university will have a virtual option beginning tomorrow.

They’re claiming it as a victory, but it’s because Jewish students feel unsafe and requested it. pic.twitter.com/7cVDEOpiao
The pro-Hamas army we're dealing with is comprised of not just college students but urban professionals, actors, and other influential figures that dominate America's cultural centers. Sure, there are jokes and stereotypes about the Jewish influences in Hollywood. They're being countered by the rising tide of antisemitism on the far left. Actors can't voice their support for Israel without being besieged by pro-terrorist trolls. Colleges are the factories where the next generation of leaders are being educated, and they all hate Jews and Israel.

The left's Charlottesville isn't contained in the town where Jefferson's Monticello resides—it's a nationwide phenomenon. Every higher learning institution has been infiltrated by pro-Hamas elements. American Jews must be reeling to see their neighbors, friends, and peers, with whom they probably shared political views, turn on them to support Israel. At Columbia, Jewish students are being warned to return home and not to come back until the campus is deemed safe.
Didn't Obama use to say things like, "This isn't who we are"? In this case, it seems appropriate, as the left has become beholden to tactics and language not seen since Kristallnacht.
The media can't ignore this, either. It's happening in their backyard, where their headquarters are located, and where they tap to get new hires and interns for the summer. They're all anti-Jewish, anti-Israel bigots who apparently can't wait to see another October 7-like attack from Hamas. Bari Weiss left The New York Times when things got out of control. She's no liberal, but a liberal writer being forced to flee the editorial board because the newsroom had become Al-Jazeera's evil cousin was the red flag.
Meanwhile, Democrats, specifically Joe Biden, must navigate these political waters, more like the Moskstraumen, to win re-election. You could imagine the pickle here, not that I'm complaining: Democrats need to cater to these folks to avoid losing to Trump. In 2024, Biden will need to pander to people who openly hate Jews to win Michigan and the like. It's the primary reason why Biden wants Israel to halt all military operations in Gaza. He needs to find something to quiet these people down while also not losing them, which would make him vulnerable in the Rust Belt.
So, sorry, liberals, your Charlottesville moment is worse. It's happening in liberal bastions; it's engulfed a vital constituency of the Democratic Party, and Joe Biden has to cater to them to avoid defeat in November. Trump never faced such vulnerabilities post-Unite the Right. No one cared by year's end, only the liberal media who exaggerated and misreported virtually everything.
There's no hiding the hatred of Jews, the pro-Hamas advocacy among the crowds, and the president trying to walk a path of denouncing the rallies so as not to lose Jewish Democrats or the young voters who are as bloodthirsty as the radical Islamic terrorists were trying to defeat.
Democrats, you have a serious antisemitism problem. You've coddled bigots, so please spare us any lectures about how we're the extremists. You are trying to purge Jews from colleges, a very Eichmann-esque start to something more sinister, as seen from the reading materials at these rallies.
They explicitly do not want peaceful coexistence. Like Hamas, they want the world’s lone, tiny Jewish state eliminated. And I’m sure they consider themselves “progressive.” Sick stuff. https://t.co/2EoiREHeBq
