Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard – our former Sekulow colleague – announced that she stripped the security clearances of multiple officials from the former Biden administration. Among those being reined in include former Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, as well as New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Former President Joe Biden will also no longer receive daily briefings.
Gabbard had ample reasons to revoke these security clearances. Blinken was the architect behind the letter that 51 Biden intelligence officials signed, discrediting the Hunter Biden laptop scandal as “Russian disinformation,” which affected the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
Sullivan is another Deep State fixture who has been around for years. He had questionable ties to Hunter and Burisma, tagging along with Hunter on his influence-peddling trips. He was also a key contributor to the Iran nuclear deal under President Obama. Because of Sullivan’s history with Hunter and propping up the Russian hoax, many GOP senators condemned his appointment as National Security Advisor by President Biden.
New York AG Letitia James campaigned on pursuing charges against President Trump, and then she made good on that, claiming he inflated the value of his assets to secure bank loans. We filed a brief with the New York appellate court in this case, arguing that the civil action she brought against President Trump was an unconstitutional act of retaliation for his First Amendment activity. James is also actively seeking to derail DOGE. DA Alvin Bragg secured a conviction against Trump after elevating a misdemeanor to a felony with 34 counts. He also tried a “novel” legal theory to keep the conviction in place.

All this is to show that Gabbard was the right nominee for DNI as she is purging our government from the Deep State to protect U.S. intelligence. And for those who are tired of the federal government being weaponized against the American people – these moves are good news. We applaud Tulsi for holding these Deep State actors accountable and preventing further abuse of their access to U.S. intelligence.

Peculiar Enforcement From Chicago PD
In a major victory for free speech and religious liberty, the ACLJ successfully defended a preacher in Chicago who was wrongfully arrested for sharing the Gospel near Millennium Park. The preacher, Brett Raio, was charged with obstruction and for using amplification without a permit. The facts point to an apparent attempt by law enforcement to restrict his constitutionally protected speech. After a thorough legal defense and key video evidence, the city of Chicago dropped the case. However, new developments have proven this is not an isolated incident, raising serious concerns about First Amendment rights in Chicago.
Back in December, when Brett was originally charged, he was with two friends who also preach in public spaces in Chicago. These friends even attended Brett’s court hearing. These young men, unafraid of their Christian convictions, continued to preach in the same public areas. Then, on February 24, Chicago police arrested, handcuffed, and detained both of these young men at the same location and for the same spurious charges that led to Brett’s arrest.
Since going public with Mr. Raio’s case, we have heard from others in Chicago describing similar patterns. This alarming development demonstrates a pattern of enforcement that disregards well-established constitutional protections.
We are appalled by Chicago’s willingness to allow open rebellion in its streets by pro-Palestinian protesters while targeting preachers delivering the Good News in its public spaces. This issue is far from resolved.
The ACLJ is closely monitoring this situation as it continues to unfold and is now representing these young preachers as well in their criminal trial. Additionally, we are exploring legal civil actions to put an end to this outrageous Chicago PD practice.

Operation Shred at the USAID
USAID Acting Executive Director Erica Carr ordered her remaining staff to shred and burn classified documents before Elon Musk and DOGE finish shutting down the agency. What is the Deep State trying to hide?
In a Tuesday email to staffers, USAID acting executive director Erica Carr called for an “all day” effort to help destroy sensitive agency documents at the all-but-shuttered headquarters in Washington, DC.
“Thank you for your assistance in clearing our classified safes and personnel documents,” began the email, which bore a USAID logo.
“Shred as many documents first,” the email continued, adding that staffers should stuff remaining classified material into designated “burn bags for when the shredder becomes unavailable or needs a break.”
Staffers were also told to write “secret” on the burn bags with a marker.
The email did not elaborate on why the documents should be destroyed.
The Federal Records Act exists so government documents remain the property of the American people to ensure transparency and oversight. Such documents must be preserved and made public record.
Erica Carr has a history of being a Deep State official. She worked at the Office of Personnel Management from 2007–2009, basically the federal government’s HR department. During President Obama’s first year in office, Carr moved over to USAID. In 2021, President Biden appointed Carr as USAID Executive Secretary, so she’s been in USAID leadership for a while – further raising red flags about her directive to destroy evidence.
So obviously, alarm bells go off when USAID’s Acting Executive Director – someone with long Deep State ties – sends out an email telling employees that it will be an “all-day event,” and when the shredder gets backed up, start putting stuff in burn bags.
Because of the alarming news of USAID’s actions, the ACLJ filed an emergency FOIA request to USAID to stop the destruction of evidence. This will likely quickly become a lawsuit when the Deep State refuses to comply.
