Obama’s pouting again.

The jerk’s in a snit because the media is finally being critical of Obama in a way nobody on the Left side of the aisle has ever been.

It would be funny, if it weren’t so serious.

“There was a general tone of suspended disbelief when he started talking about foreign policy,” said NBC’s Richard Engel in regard to Obama’s State of the Union Speech. “There are not a lot of success stories to be talking about in foreign policy right now. And the general tone, which was, moving on, starting again, starting a new chapter, moving beyond the 9/11 generation. It doesn't feel like we necessarily have been able to put that generation behind us.”

No we have not.

That’s what happens when the media, including the folks at NBC, clamor for us to remove our troops from a country—Iraq-- that wanted us to stay after a victorious war.

Imagine if we pulled out of Germany, or Japan, or South Korea.

Yeah. That’s what happened.

Victory is never an end-- it’s a beginning.

And those who treat it as “the end” generally lose.

So in response to the old media’s new media attitude toward Obama, the president is pouting.

No, he won’t meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu-- no, no, no!

The White House cites the upcoming Israeli election as the reason.

"As a matter of longstanding practice and principle, we do not see heads of state or candidates in close proximity to their elections, so as to avoid the appearance of influencing a democratic election in a foreign country," National Security Council spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan said, reports the Associated Press.

Ah, yes, another example of White House’s suspended disbelief…and reality.

What makes Obama think that appearing with Netanyahu would benefit the prime minister in the upcoming election? In fact, it would likely hurt the popular prime minister—popular in America at least.

Today, in a further detachment from reality, Obama is looking for a moderate element in the Arab world, an element that Engel says the U.S. military calls the “unicorn” because it does not exist.

Just ask yourself: Would moderate elements be more or less likely to exist in the Middle East with United States Army’s 3rd Infantry Division protecting them?

As our foremost expert on the Islamic world, Obama either knows the answer to this question or he does not. I’m not sure which scenario is more frightening.

There are no moderate Arab elements because we have done everything that we possibly can to make sure that moderates do not have the protection of the United States. What little moderate elements-- elements that were gaining in numbers—that existed, were slaughtered when American troops left Iraq so that Obama could claim: “Mission accomplished!”

The only thing missing for Obama was the aircraft carrier and the flight suit.

The president’s suspension of reality as to ISIS and the Middle East is so profound that I almost expected him the cry out in the SOTU, as Navin Johnson did in the movie The Jerk, “Good Lord. I've heard about this. Cat juggling."

That the media is paying attention to Obama’s failures isn’t a sign that we are recovering from them, but rather that we are way too far down the path the president has put us on.

The media may be willing to criticize Obama now, but they are just as complicit in the foreign policy problems as Obama is. In fact, Obama is largely just a reflection, a symptom, of a media that is pouting too.

They were wrong about Iraq, they were wrong about the economy, they were wrong about Obama.

But don’t expect either side to admit their errors.

Just expect the pouting to continue.
