Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump…Again

Around this time in 2020, Townhall published a piece about why I was voting for President Trump.  Well, I’m voting for Trump again.  This time, I am convinced President Trump's victory will count.

Many of the reasons I am voting for President Trump have not changed, namely:

As President, Donald Trump's policies created a thriving economy, closed borders, achieved peace, supported Americans' free speech, the sanctity of life, defeated terrorists and reduced regulation.  Overall, President Trump began pulling government from our lives, allowing Americans to thrive, to lead our lives and solve our own problems.  Before Covid hit, Americans were doing remarkably well; all Americans.

Contrast that with those on the left who do not care about the lives of average Americans. Our family is living proof.  I’ve told our story so many times, but I think it’s worth telling again.

Our 33-year-old father Frank Connor was murdered by the Marxist, Puerto Rican terrorist group FALN at the historic Fraunces Tavern in New York City on January 24, 1975, four days after my ninth birthday.  The FALN members were handed clemency by the Clintons and Eric Holder in 1999.  His god son, my cousin Steve Schlag was murdered in the North Tower on 9/11/01 as I witnessed the attacks from my nearby office window having just commuted through the World Trade Center.

Democrats led by Obama/Biden, Eric Holder and the Clintons arrogantly dismissed our father’s life and our average American family for pure politics.  In a reprehensible, politically craven push for New York Hispanic votes for Hillary Clinton in her 2000 New York senatorial campaign, they pushed clemency on the unrepentant FALN terrorists.  Terror leader Oscar Lopez Rivera refused the 1999 Clinton grant only to receive an unprecedented second clemency for the same crimes from Obama/Biden on their last day in office, January 20, 2017.  Shortly after his release, Lopez Rivera was lauded by New York Democrats as a “Freedom Hero” for the then upcoming Puerto Rican Day parade.  Fortunately, a small group of family members convinced parade sponsors such as Goya Foods, New York Yankees, Coca-Cola and The New York Daily News to pull their sponsorship, which convinced parade organizers to rescind the Freedom Hero Award from Lopez Rivera.

Despite providing safe-haven to terrorists fugitives including convicted FALN bomb maker William Morales and Black Liberation Army cop killer Joanne Chesimard, Obama/Biden capitulated by removing the terror state of Cuba from the State Sponsor of Terror list.  Fortunately, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) recently introduced the Frank Connor, Trooper Werner Foerster Justice Act to the Senate to codify the return of fugitives from Cuba.

Today, Kamala Harris' Democrat Party, which has supported BLM and Antifa (today’s generation of the FALN Marxist terrorists), treats Capitol Hill protestors as greater threats to the country than terrorists, including the FALN terrorist who "attacked our democracy" with over 130 bombings in the US between 1974 and 1983 and were actually convicted of Seditious Conspiracy among many other serious charges.

Incredibly, these same Democrats who dismissed Seditious Conspiracy as "purely political" and "non violent" when the Clintons/Eric Holder and then Obama/Biden handed the FALN clemency in 1999 and 2017 now consider those charged with Seditious Conspiracy as the "greatest threat to our Democracy." Those deemed as insurrectionists are portrayed by the Dems and the media as violent enough to endanger the Republic.

Let's be clear here.  The left had real terrorist, insurrectionists locked away in prison for 55 to 70 years only to push clemency on them. Twice.

As a result of the left’s attacks on our American Family, I was forced to become politically active including twice testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee (once at the aforementioned Eric Holder’s AG confirmation hearing), introducing The Pardon Attorney Reform and Integrity Act to Congress, taking a significant role in the famed Citizen’s United Hillary the Movie, shooting a commercial at Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential campaign, writing books (The New Founders, Shattered Lives), a documentary film, publishing articles, witnessing 2016 pre-trail hearings at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and appearing on various television news programs.

The left needs to understand that our lives are not a game.  Our lives are not a social/political experiment.  Our lives are real, gifts from God, not abstract theory to be used by politicians or their followers.

Like so many others, our average family has felt the real-world pain of political acts.  I only wish my former friends would understand that.  Even if they do not have empathy for our family or so many others whose lives have been shattered, they need to understand that any political party who would release unrepentant Islamic/Marxist terrorists who would cozy up to Marxist terrorist states and foster violence in our streets would do anything to anyone for power; including them.

Even I figured that out in 1999.

The election is only a few weeks away.  Our vote is not for the candidate as much as it is for each other.  Do we want a president from the party that sees Americans not as individuals, but groups and uses its peoples’ lives and deaths for political gain?

No.  We want a future where again the government steps out of our lives, fights against Marxist/Jihadist terrorists while respecting each of us as individuals as per the founding of this country.

That is why this average American is voting for Donald Trump…again.
