Governor Ron DeSantis has withdrawn from the GOP race. Based on his credentials and his accomplishments, it is our loss.

Ron DeSantis is a fighter. Long before he was running as a GOP candidate for president, the liberal hate machine vilified him in every conceivable way. Time Magazine ran an extensive piece on him, going on for thousands of words about what a terrible person he is. His governorship represents a dark period in Florida's history. He is a white supremacist. He is Trump without the acrimony, and so much more.

Everybody Takes A Shot

Mother Earth News, Rolling Stone, The Nation,Mother Jones, The New York Times, and the usual suspects on the Left have portrayed DeSantis as someone beyond evil. These articles are not small features; they are protracted hit pieces: DeSantis will bring ruin to the state of Florida. Only those who maintain his same maniacal right-wing views will go along with his policies!

If you didn't know anything about Florida or the current state of American politics, particularly in light of the Biden administration, you would conclude that Ron DeSantis was a despicable human being.

Oh, and his wife is not much better. His children are pawns. His military service to the nation was suspect. Indeed, all of his motives, aspirations, and objectives are tainted. He is a conspiracy theorist. Clearly, he is a grave danger to America.

Donald Trump is the presumptive G.O.P. presidential nominee for 2024, despite all of the persecutions and prosecutions the Left is throwing at him. If DeSantis somehow did get the nomination, within minutes you could expect the commencement of the DeSantis-Hitler comparisons. That's how crazed the Leftist media conglomerates happen to be. Gosh, DeSantis likely keeps “Mein Kampf” by his bedside.

When Reality Kicks In

Contrast all of this character assassination with current reality. The state of Florida has become a top destination for American citizens who choose to relocate from one state to another. In a 39-month period ending on July 1, 2023, Florida led the nation in net migration, with a total of more than 818,000. It was followed by Texas with 656,000, then North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Who is on the opposite end of the spectrum? If you guessed California, you hit the jackpot. California lost 1,190,000 million residents, with New York trailing at 882,000 departing residents, and Illinois with 364,000 departees.

Acknowledging such news, DeSantis remarked, “People vote with their feet. We have had significant migration into the state of Florida. You see the places people are leaving, like California and Illinois, and New York, they all have similar governing philosophies, and people really are fleeing the poor results of those policies.”What policies does DeSantis advocate? Wild notions such as being pro-family, pro-business, and sane legal immigration.

We Want You!

While governors in many states make concerted efforts to induce citizens from around the country to move to their states, Florida has made little outreach; people are packing up and moving in without official inducement. Most of the migration to Florida is from current American citizens, while a significant portion of it is from international relocations.

Beyond simply relocating to Florida, however, are residents satisfied? One indicator of Florida’s success can be viewed in a U.S. News and World Report ranking of states as to how well each is performing for its citizens.

Florida comes in 10th, which doesn't seem stellar until you consider that the first nine are low-population states such as Utah, Idaho, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Iowa, and Vermont. Among high-population states in the nation, Florida ranks first.

Where is California on that list? In the bottom half at 33rd. Where is New York? Not bad at 20th. Where is Illinois? Lower down than California, at 36th. Perhaps the mainstream press and the usual gang of Leftist periodicals ought to be publishing in-depth features about the dissatisfaction of residence in, say, California.

And Now for a Balanced Perspective

How about a 5,000 word expose about the vast negative effects which Gov. Gavin Newsom's administration has had on residents and business? Or what about an in-depth look at the confused world of Gov. Kathy Hochul? Would these articles be a choice reading? Sure, but don’t hold your breath waiting for them.

The record of Ron DeSantis in Florida cannot be diminished. Keep the faith, Governor.
