3,2,1…Seconds Before GOP Elites Walk Away From Trump Over FBI Raid

As the embarrassingly defeated Liz Cheney is most likely now preparing for her next career at MSNBC and as a “useful idiot” doormat for the far-left, our attention should turn back to the man who is having the last laugh at her expense.

That being former President Donald J. Trump.

After the raid of his Florida home by the FBI, like him or not, the entirety of the GOP elected universe should be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him over what a growing number of people now believe to have been a partisan-led act to not only circumvent the will of millions of American voters, but drive Trump out of the 2024 race.

But, if you seriously believe that the entrenched Republican-elites are going to have Trump’s back on this issue, then I have some swampland to sell you in Washington, DC.

In last Thursday’s Wall Street Journal, Kimberly A. Strassel had a column titled: “Payback for Mar-a-Lago Will Be Brutal.” Now, I am a huge fan of Ms. Strassel’s mind and her work, but honestly, are you kidding me?

Has Ms. Strassel not taken notice of the entrenched-elite of the GOP stabbing Conservatives – and our nation – in the back every time they regain the majority? A GOP entrenched-elite who, like the “Never Trumpers,” have wanted Donald J. Trump off the political landscape since day one.

Why?

Because they – like the Democrat-elites who feed from the same cash-lined polluted trough – could never control him. He could not be bought-off by the Special Interest slime which fund so many of their campaigns and junkets and then instantly hire them upon their leaving of Congress.

If this is true – and it is – then why, you should ask yourself, would they want to go to bat for him now? They wouldn’t.

Some of these entrenched-elites may pretend to be in Trump’s corner as they work with Democrats to undermine the policies millions of Americans did – and do – believe were getting the nation back on the right track after about three decades of past presidential mismanagement. But it all is a pretense.

That’s one issue.

Another is that at some point, we have to stop pointing fingers and be accountable for our beliefs and our actions.

I have long maintained that at least part of the fault for the exponentially growing rate of decay eating away at the Republic created by our Founding Fathers – and outlined extensively in my book, The 56 – lies not with the Democrats and far-left, but rather with the Republicans, conservatives, and people of traditional faith who either sit silently on the sidelines while twiddling their thumbs thinking “Woe is us,” or worse – via the message of Teddy Roosevelt’s “Man in the Arena” speech – sit in the peanut gallery built by the left as they criticize those on the floor of the arena fighting for rule of law, sovereign borders, smaller government, lower taxes, a strong, non-politicized military and deep state, and non “woke” schools for their children.

Things which, not coincidentally, Trump did fight for tooth and nail while in office.

All of which brings us back to Trump’s predicament with the seemingly highly politicized Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation.

To be fair, collectively, there are thousands of good and patriotic Americans in both of those organizations. But, they are walled-off from the power-centers calling the shots.

That in turn brings us back to the Republicans in Congress.

Why are they there?

“Oversight” for sure being one of the reasons.

Do they even remember the oath they swore upon assuming their high office? In case they have forgotten, here it is:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

Support and defend “the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

Not defend special interests, the Aspen Institute, the World Economic Forum’s woke war on American business, energy and livelihood crushing “green energy,” open borders, non-elected “experts” locking down a nation, or “woke” schools condemning our children to ignorance.

No. Their oath was – and is – to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

Should any of them still believe that, then they might want to reach out to former President Donald J. Trump. He seems to have a very interesting case of his constitutional rights having been violated.

And, if the constitutional rights of a former president of the United States – as well as the leading candidate for the Republican nomination in 2024 – can be violated, then the rest of us are at the mercy of partisans who believe any means justifies the end they seek.

Any means.
