Talk about a party with nothing to offer…
Democrats are simply lost. I love it, don’t get me wrong, I really do. It’s also some great comedy. They are still trying to raise money off the names and likenesses of Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff. Yep, they are sticking with the losers who blew through a billion and a half dollars with nothing to show for it except rich consultants and celebrity “endorsers” paid more than some rural towns make in a year for their “support.” Still, they just can’t quit her.
Trying to raise money off the Harris name after her humiliating loss is about as smart as continually selecting Ted Kennedy as your designated driver from an open bar wedding, yet that’s where they are.
Who else would they elevate? What faces do Democrats have?
Joe Biden? Is he still alive? When was the last time he was seen? Inauguration Day? Do we have any proof of life video footage of him since January 20th? Do any Democrats even care?
Biden was a historic failure as president, and you couldn’t believably script anyone to be worse. Democrats don’t even bother trying to defend his record on any issue. The closest they come is yelling, “Eggs are expensive under Trump!” when everyone knows they exploded in price in December. That’s the best they’ve got, and they’ve barely going through those motions.
Gavin Newsom? He was the obvious choice…until Los Angeles burned down while he fiddled. Aside from a politician caught with a prostitute or just having an affair back in the old days, there has not been a bigger collapse in the esteemed market than Governor Hairdo. He was the used car salesman leading the team in commissions, with repeat clientele, and sleeping with the hot secretary. Then his wife came home.
Maybe he can recover in four years to give it a go at the White House, but that’s a long way off. Right now, he’s the second least popular politician in his state, saved only by the stunning incompetence of LA’s Mayor. How can you raise money from that?
Was Moore? Wesley Moore is a talking point android in an expensive suit. He’s been a horrible Governor, exploding Maryland’s deficit in his first year and then plotting to raise taxes on everyone. Actually, he’s the perfect Democrat. Except he’s unknown. Affable, but unknown. Sucks at his job, which makes being unknown good. But you can’t really make him the face of your party and raise money off his name.
Tim Walz? Please pick Tim Walz.
Josh Shapiro? He’s Jewish, and too much of the Democratic Party’s base hates Jews. This could have been headed off at the pass had any Democrat worth their weight in dog excrement told the radicals on college campuses calling for the destruction of Israel and the extermination of Jews to go straight to hell, but no one did. They gave those Nazis passive approval, so Shapiro is out.
Who else do they have? Seriously, I can’t think of anyone.
AOC? Hell, I’d change my registration to Democrat to vote for that dimwit in the primary. I wouldn’t give them a dime, but I’d hope she won.
There’s no one else, at least not anyone who matters.
That’s why they send out emails that open with a photo of Kamala and Doug, reading, “Derek -- Kamala and Doug are still counting on this team to help Democrats fight for the Senate! But according to official DSCC records, your January Democratic Membership still requires activation.”
My membership will not be activated, ever.
“Democrats are already on the offensive with Republicans holding a SLIM majority and special elections leading to TWO major pick-up opportunities in Florida and Ohio!” it continues. “We can defeat the GOP if members of this grassroots team step up early -- and that starts with you, Derek. Will you please become a member of the team that will make history and ACTIVATE your DSCC Membership by tomorrow's end-of-month deadline?”
No. Drop dead.
That’s the best they’ve got: act like the election never happened. They whine about Republicans who “won’t admit Trump lost in 2020,” yet their whole party apparatus is operating as though the 2024 election did not occur. It’s kind of like how the American people have wished for the last four years.
