You can say a lot of things about Nancy Pelosi, very few of which are good. But you do have to hand it to her on one thing: She never quits. Like, ever.
Most people in their 80s would like to spend more time with their families, she doesn’t. Now, in fairness to her family, maybe it’s they who don’t want to spend time with her – imagine Nancy being your grandma; aside from all the corrupt money, what is the advantage of that?
But Nancy doesn’t want to spend more time with her family, nor does her husband seem to want to spend more time with her – how’s he going to get those insider stock tips if Nancy isn’t running the Democrats in the House? (I know, it’s publicly Hakeem Jeffries leading Democrats, but Nancy is still pulling the strings since Hakeem hasn’t established himself and his own network of corruption yet.)
That’s why the fundraising emails from Nancy roll in at a rate higher than just about anyone else. Nancy never rests, and Nancy doesn’t want to have to pay for anything herself. (You just know she’s found some way to stock her industrial home freezer with her expensive ice cream with campaign cash.)
Under the subject line, “speechless,” Grifter Nancy opens with, “I’m speechless. I just learned that Republicans have surged into a TWO-POINT LEAD in the race for the House in a recent poll. I don’t say this lightly: If we can’t respond immediately, our hopes of taking back the House could VANISH.”
The election is a year and a half away, polling today is about as useful as she would be to an arm wrestling team. But because there’s a buck in it for her, she’s all over it like a rash.
“We need to accelerate our fundraising pace — and QUICKLY,” she continues. “That’s why I’m calling for 2,400 Democrats to step up ASAP to close the gap, rush resources to our most critical races, and build the foundation of early support we’ll need to reclaim our Democratic Majority. Can you chip in $15 before midnight?”
That would be $36,000, by the way. Do you think $36,000 this far out is going to sway the next election? Even if she used it all for bribes, the people she bribed could die before then or forget all about what they were bribed for. No, she’s lying because she’s relentless.
“Everything we’ve fought for is at risk every day Republicans hold the House,” she goes on. “Social Security. Medicare. Health care. Reproductive rights. Even our very Democracy. And Republicans are not doing anything to bring down costs and address the kitchen table needs of America's working families. It’s up to folks like you to step up, make Republicans’ vicious attacks on everything we hold dear BACKFIRE, and restore our Democratic House.”
Yes, Republicans aren’t going to help with the cost of all the things Democrat policies have driven up the cost of, or something. Who does she think was in power when all those prices went up? Well, she knows, she’s just hoping people on her fundraising list are too stupid to…and she’s probably right.
She wasn’t done, because she’s never done. She went on with, “If we reach our goal, we can erase Republicans’ momentum and show that Democrats stand ready to retake the House in the next election. I’m doing everything I can to defeat extremist Republicans at the ballot box, but I need your help. Will you rush $15 to help Democrats regain our lead and put us back on track to WIN back our House Majority?”
She’s supposed to resign from the House this year, what is she hoping people will think she’ll do? Retire with a nice nest egg of their money she’ll spend the rest of her miserable life living off of under the guise of whatever she does somehow being part of her trying to help elect Democrats? Hell, it worked for the Clintons, why not her? (When do you think was the last time either Clinton picked up a check at a restaurant? 1992?)
I don’t mind Nancy ripping of liberal suckers – less money for the party to do anything productive with – but some of that cash will end up going to candidates, if only enough to keep any allegation of the obvious scam going on here from making their way into a prosecutor who would be unable to ignore it. It’s a hell of a con she’s got going on there, and she never rests from it. In a sick way, you have to at least admire her tenacity.
