Who Are The Real Dregs?

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

As voters go to the polls this fall, they should consider with whom they identify more: the Democrats, who embrace radical and sometimes violent protesters, or the Republicans, who are delivering new jobs and pay raises with President Trump.

In 2016, voters embraced a new vision for America after years of economic decline disguised as anemic growth. Now those same voters are portrayed as the worst of the worst by the Democrats — the same Democrats who are becoming ever more closely aligned with violent street protesters.

Joe Biden said recently that Trump supporters are a “small percentage” of “American people” who are the “dregs of society,” yet, the former Vice President makes no mention of protestors who hound Republican politicians out of restaurants, lead intimidating demonstrations in government buildings, and regularly resort to violence against innocent Americans.

Black-masked leftists have beaten innocent people unconscious, fought police officers, attacked journalists, and completely destroyed the notion of peaceful assembly as they protest the Trump administration and the GOP.

Trump supporters were left bloodied outside a rally in 2016, and there are videos and more  videos online showing left-wing activists assaulting those who support President Trump. As then-candidate Trump’s poll numbers went up, so did the violence against those who wanted to make America great again.

But despite his rising popularity, the violence is now a near-daily occurrence thanks to the Democrats and their national leaders like Maxine Waters and Keith Ellison.

“Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up.” Waters said earlier this year. “And if you see anybody from [President Trump’s] Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

In a now infamous tweet, Ellison shared a picture of the “Antifa handbook,” stating that he “just found the book that strike [sic] fear in the heart of [President Trump].”

The Democrats’ response to this embrace of violence? Silence. As a matter of fact, they’ve gone out of their way to justify it. The liberal media argue that violence in response to political discourse is excusable .

CNN’s primetime hosts Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo have both given liberal extremists a pass for violence.

“No organization is perfect” said Lemon of Antifa.

Cuomo, however, took it a step further by saying that while Antifa protesters are wrong to hit people, police, and reporters, "fighting hate is right" and in a clash between hate and those who oppose it, "those who oppose it are on the side of right."

CNN as a whole labels Antifa an “anti-hate group,” and even tolerates one of their hosts being featured prominently at an Antifa rally.

Meanwhile, how many times have you seen Trump supporters loot businesses, set fires in the street, and beat innocent people? It’s never happened.

So, who are the actual “dregs of society,” as Joe Biden would say?

To him, it’s the Americans who are working hard to put food on the table, finally making ends meet again. It’s the moms and dads who can raise their children with optimism about their future once again — the “dregs on society” are actually regular Americans who don’t agree with Biden and his party’s radical agenda.

The Democrats who wear facemasks, destroy businesses, and encourage violence against conservatives and supporters of the President are the real dregs.

Losing an election doesn’t give them the right beat and bloody people with whom they disagree.

The hypocrisy runs deep among such Democrats, and the sooner they disavow violence and see the good being done in our nation, the sooner we can reduce that which divides us and embrace that which unites us as Americans.
