Presentation Paradox – CNN
That awkward moment when the network debunks its correspondent.
There is little doubt that one of the bigger media scandals of the generation was in the manner our press corps not only hid Joe Biden’s mental condition, but they lied about his mental prowess and then attacked those of us willing to point out the accuracy of his condition. It is a nadir in the industry that needs to be thrown in the face of any of the prevaricators who participated.
Among those is CNN’s Kaitlan Collins. The recently christened White House correspondent was among those pushing the “Biden is sharp” narrative, and today, she is hung out to dry over that fraudulent position – by her own network.
Abby Phillip, referencing one of the many revisionist election history books to come out, quotes Ron Klain as describing Biden as being “out of it,” and “was unaware of what was happening in his own campaign.” This flies directly in opposition to Collins reporting one year ago with a level of excitement about how well Biden was preparing. This contrast was illustrated perfectly in this Maze Moore post. Just slobbering and effusive hack reporting by Collins.

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO
This does not bode well for your federal funding effort.
We covered yesterday how NPR tried to get in on the latest Pete Hegseth hit narrative by suggesting the White House was already looking to replace the secretary of defense. Pay no mind that everyone on the record – from Karoline Leavitt all the way to the president – stated firmly there is no such effort, NPR has it on good authority this is happening. Who said it? It will not say. What position is this individual in to know? That’s none of our business.
As a sign of the problem with this report, we see that it is being called out – by someone else in the media. Marc Caputo is one of the more solid reporters out there and he has deep contacts from the Florida political realm. He has asked deep into the administration and says he has not found one person corroborating the NPR claim. Now granted, he too does not name sourcing, but the very fact he is a prominent figure in the press calling BS is itself significant.
I can’t find one White House official, including some at the highest levels, who confirm the NPR report that the admin has started looking to replace Hegseth

Reporting on the Mirror – CBS NEWS / "60 MINUTES"
“If you won’t let me lie, then I quit!!!”
There is a simmering dispute taking place inside of CBS News as a result of the Donald Trump lawsuit he has brought as a result of that deeply flawed “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris last Fall. While the production team is remaining obstinate and wants to fight Trump, the executives feel differently as a result of an impending sale of the network. This lawsuit is gumming up the works on that deal, and it wants to settle now to push that deal through.
As a result, veteran executive producer Bill Owens resigned, unable to tolerate what he sells to be pressure from the brass:
Over the past months, it has become clear that I would not be allowed to run the show as I have always run it, to make independent decisions based on what was right for ‘60 Minutes,’ right for the audience.

Matching Media Memorandum – VARIOUS OUTLETS
Does no one care about accuracy anymore?!
It has been an ongoing revelation of bias as well as being a source of amusement how so many news outlets are insistent on referring to MS-13 gang member Abrego Garcia as not just “wrongly deported” (a half truth at best), but going further to label him a “Maryland Man.” Yes, it is a slanted portrayal, as well as being entirely false. But what is staggering to see is just how widespread this falsehood has been used.
The crowd over at NewsBusters compiled the number of times that fraud was used on the air at just two networks – CNN and MSNBC – and compiled more than 500 instances. Meanwhile, in just 10% of the reports was it mentioned he was in this country illegally.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – THE NEW YORK TIMES
Now, do you have a source for this holiday claim?
Over the weekend, the Democrats social media account came out with a rather daft claim: They stated that the price of eggs has skyrocketed to such a degree that for Easter this year, people were resorting to coloring potatoes. Yes, they seriously posted that. That the claim itself is deeply moronic is bad enough, but the very fact that eggs are trending at an average price below that of when Trump took office makes this an even more asinine posting.

But hey, we cannot blame the Dems on this – after all, they were simply repeating what The New York Times had reported. So, yeah…about that report.
Despite the dramatic headline, there is a lone reference to this in the article, and it is deeply questionable. It seems The Times got this detail based on social media videos instructing how to color food options for the holiday. Seriously…it sourced TikTok:
Videos on how to dye marshmallows, potatoes, and even onions have begun to circulate on social media and news websites.
This is literally The New York Times resorting to the age old remark, “Well, it must be true, we saw it on the internet!”
