Anti-Social Media – CNN
To be clear, raving about a murderer is NOT extremism. Is that the stance?!
On Friday, CNN’s Extremism Correspondent, Donie O’Sullivan, tried to sell us on the concept that violent political extremism is not seen on the left. We have to guess that, by not turning your head to the left, it would lead to this conclusion. Well, it gets worse.
That Friday appearance was Donie promoting his latest episode of his series “MisinfoNation,” and on the latest installment, he took warped sensibilities to new lows. It begins with the simple fact that he thought it wise to interview Taylor Lorenz. So, of course, this went sideways and ended up in a ditch.
Lorenz has been outspokenly fangirling over the murderer Luigi Mangione, and O’Sullivan sat with her as if this was the behavior of normal people. She declared that her avowed support for the killer has seen her now independent reporting expanding her audience.

She also said that Mangione – a premeditated killer who shot the UnitedHealthcare CEO in the back in public – is “a morally good man.” And what is Donie’s reaction to this insane rambling? He throws his head back and chortles enthusiastically. This is the same dolt who cannot see extremism emanating from the left.
And CNN proudly broadcast this insanity. Unreal.
BlueAnon – THE NEW YORK TIMES
The feeling that this was unwarranted is palpable. It’s also incorrect.
The New York Times' Russian collusion obsessive Adam Goldman comes out with a scathing report about FBI Director Kash Patel suspending analyst Brian Auten. The approach is how this is unacceptable, as Auten was a name found on the previously crafted enemies list Patel had drawn up.
And yet, despite the “how dare he!” tone of the piece, Goldman managed to list a number of items on Auten’s resume that sure make it sound like this was something that needed to take place years ago:
Auten was previously disciplined and questioned in a criminal probe. He worked on two major investigations that earned Trump and Patel's ire, including into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He was also involved in reviewing information on Hunter Biden’s laptop. Auten and others were punished after serious mistakes were found in the FBI's applications for a secret surveillance warrant involving a former Trump campaign adviser, the Times noted. Auten also played an outsized role in identifying the primary source behind an incendiary and baseless dossier about Trump.

See if you can discern the Word of the Week.
There appears to be a theme with the press and Democrats.
Low-Octane Gaslighting – THE BBC
Does she not understand that this is a work of fiction?!
There has been a certain level of hype surrounding a Netflix show called “Adolescence,” which is about white youths becoming radicalized and violent. In Britain, they have gone the route seen years ago with the Al Gore propaganda “An Inconvenient Truth” and are having “Adolescence” shown in schools.
In an amusing dose of obliviousness, one British politician was visiting a morning show, and the two hosts were hectoring this woman for not having seen the program because she instead looks at data and news items. The one hostess keeps pressing her over not having watched the “documentary” – apparently unaware the show she is pushing is a completely dramatic presentation. She also has to ignore the non-white politician citing the very fresh news item of a gang rape involving youths who are decidedly not white.
Reporting on the Mirror – ASSOCIATED PRESS
This is not considered a favorable sign for your court case.
On Friday, we covered how the Associated Press was the latest to face a defamation lawsuit from Zachary Young, the defamed Navy veteran who was wrongfully accused of exploiting Afghans during the fiasco of the US troop withdrawal. This is the same suit that a jury ruled CNN was liable for damages.
As a result, we see that U.S. News and World Report has taken the rare step of taking down the piece that it ran from the AP, now placing a lengthy explanation under the address that formerly ran the AP report.
Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – ABC NEWS
How will the candlestick craftsmen and sleeping cap seamstress industries be affected, Mr. Karl?
On his Sunday program, Jonathan Karl had to jump on the media dogpile about tariffs, but we are not too clear who he thought he was appealing to within his critique. When considering the concept of this country reestablishing manufacturing jobs, he dismissively asked the Commerce Secretary if we were going to become a nation of cobblers.
