Reporting on the Mirror – WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS ASSOCIATION
Removing the only reason to watch your Nerd Prom is hardly the wise move.
In an abrupt move, Eugene Daniels, President of the White House Correspondents’ Association, has announced that they have canceled having Amber Ruffin as its keynote speaker for its annual dinner next month. There is some speculation this was a response to White House Deputy Chief of Staff calling out the group for having Ruffin host, or it was because of her recent podcast appearance where she mentioned the WHCA had requested that she give a balanced performance, as she called the Trump administration a group of murderers.
Daniels has made the lukewarm announcement that he is “re-envisioning” the annual awards gala, saying that, “At this consequential moment for journalism, I want to ensure the focus is not on the politics of division but entirely on awarding our colleagues for their outstanding work and providing scholarship and mentorship to the next generation of journalists.”
This move contradicts Daniels’ own words previously touting Ruffin as being perfect for this year’s event:
Recommended
When I began to think about what entertainer would be a perfect fit for the dinner this year, Amber was immediately at the top of my list. Her perspective will fit right in with the dinner’s tradition of honoring the freedom of the press. This dinner is about centering the importance of a functioning democracy, and Amber is the type of entertainer who understands both the significance of that mission as well as the mechanics of power in this country.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – PUCK NEWS
Another log is tossed onto the media pyre.
We covered at length the machinations in the CNN defamation lawsuit where military veteran Zachary Young charged CNN with defamation, affecting his career as a professional hot zone extraction expert. A jury found the network committed libel against Young, awarding millions in damages and more undisclosed sums for defaming the man.
Now, Young has brought a suit for the same reasons against Puck News, for essentially repeating the same unfounded claims against him.

Matching Media Memorandum – CNN
Seems like any right-of-center entertainment is regarded as a takeover of the culture.
It is laughable to see these completely vacant claims made that the press, social media, and/or the entertainment realm has been overrun by conservatism. The current outcry is over the “takeover” of the Kennedy Center by Trump appointees, with a wide variety of individuals and acts professing they will not perform at the venue, or will quit affiliated positions due to the prevalence of conservative content being promoted. They are a bit too emotionally driven to realize that by quitting scheduled gigs, they have now left dates open to be filled by the very content they claim to hate.
Brain Stelter dutifully shared a quote from Ben Folds, declaring that Trump has taken over the culture and the arts – by now running a solitary theater in this country.
Ben Folds: "There is an instinct, an authoritarian instinct, that is true in all authoritarian times in history: Take control of the culture, take control of the arts early on." https://t.co/mwfVgTdm6s

Anti-Social Behavior – THE ATLANTIC
Now, you do realize these are your own readers, correct?
At the outlet of Jeffrey Goldberg, you know rather quickly just skimming a few headlines you are in the realm of leftists. That is why it was with amusement that we saw the headline that senior editor Saahil Desai decided to rent a Tesla Cyber Truck and report back on the reactions the vehicle generated. With the windows down, he reported on numerous instances of being flipped the middle finger, absorbing insults, and receiving a stream of vulgarities from anonymous strangers.
These are his own leftists, and he accurately described the driving experience as being behind the wheel of “A 7,000 pound Rorschach Test.”
On a recent Sunday, @Saahil_Desai drove America's most polarizing car around Washington, D.C.—and was flipped off at least 17 times: https://t.co/0miEE9t5a8

DNC PR Firm – THE ATLANTIC
Speaking of psychological tests…
David Frum has not been in a good mental or emotional space since the election. (Okay, fine — since well before the election, but he has become exponentially worse of late.) For the latest departure from journalism and operating with pure spite-filled conjecture, Frum responded to the news that Pete Hegseth had his wife in attendance at some meetings recently.
That nothing was untoward or improper about her attendance was not a consideration. Also, Davie had to cling to the baseless claims of Hegseth drinking in order to make what he felt was a valid point…rooted in zero facts.
If Pete Hegseth's wife is attending the meetings to move the gin bottles out of reach, then we should all be grateful that Pete Hegseth's wife is attending the meetings.
