It was fully expected even before the speech delivered by Donald Trump to the joint session of Congress that the press was going to be in full opposition to the night’s content. What gets covered today is a collection of entries that exposes the current reality seen with the media complex – emotional fervor eclipsing journalism standards and common sense.

This has to be the ultimate manifestation of TDS.
One of the highlights of the night was when the president highlighted that in attendance was 13-year-old D.J. Daniels, a brain cancer patient who is living out his dream of becoming a police officer. There were few dry eyes when D.J. was genuinely surprised after President Trump announced that he had become a member of the Secret Service and was presented with his own set of credentials.
Over at MSNBC, they formed one of their dysfunctional panels to cover live political events, and this included the pathologically derangement-afflicted hostess Nicolle Wallace. She was delivering her summation of that touching event, and in a fashion few people could have pulled off, she used this moment to veer off into hysterical January 6 ranting:

I hope he lives the life he wants to live. He wants to be a cop. He knows what he wants to do, and maybe when you have childhood cancer, that crystallizes for you. And I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer. But I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters.
Just a magnificent display of how corroded the thinking is of this troupe of anti-Trump moonbats. And Nicolle was not finished. She managed to continue, making her co-hosts squirm slightly in dealing with the words they had just endured:
I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide, and I hope he isn’t one who has to testify against the people who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and then lived to see Donald Trump pardon those people."
Just…holy crap, Nicky. It is seriously time to consider taking a couple of weeks off and gathering your sanity back to a manageable level.

Also looking at the highlight of the night in a disturbing light was Rachel Maddow. She gave her assessment of Trump recognizing the pediatric cancer survivor during the speech last night.
“Disgusting,” was her conclusion.

In his summation of the night, Jake Tapper was dismayed by what he saw and heard – not from the churlish Democrats in the chamber, but from President Trump.
Bear in mind, Trump’s offhand remark was well past the halfway mark in his speech. But this is what had Mr. Tapper upset and bothered, not the previous hour of Democrats turning the speech into a professional wrestling pre-match frenzy.

Most sane people who witnessed the sophomoric histrionics from the Democrats in Congress during that speech were somewhat appalled or at least dismayed by the display. But not Scott MacFarlane.
No, the CBS January 6 obsessive was instead deeply bothered by the Republicans' reactions to these childish displays:
It was a HORRIBLY tense feeling in this chamber at moments after Congressman Green from Houston was ejected. There was this loud, visceral, ugly screaming inside this chamber directed at Mr. Green. There was another moment when Congresswoman Melanie Dansbury of New Mexico was holding up a white sign that said “This is not normal”. A Republican snatched the paper from her hand and threw it across the room.

Okay – Margaret? You covered last year’s SOTU address, so what gives?
Another one who was unbothered by the Democrats’ histrionics but bothered by Trump’s words was Margaret Brennan. She declared that his tone and the insults delivered about Biden were "words you don't often hear in these chambers like that."
Say, Mags – we were there when Joe Biden repeatedly railed about Trump in last year’s State of the Union speech. He treated it like a campaign speech because he knew he would be running against Trump, saying things like, “Now my predecessor, a former Republican president, tells Putin, quote, ‘Do whatever the hell you want.’ That’s a quote."

Body Checking the Fact-Checkers – POLITIFACT
This compare/contrast over the fact-checks reveals the sham.
PolitiFact came out with its fact-check of Trump’s speech, as expected, and it completely exposed itself as the partisan organization it is. It found its share of FALSE ratings and, of course, no truthful results.
In the past two SOTU fact-checks of Biden, however, he earned a few “Mostly True” mentions, and zero comments were rated “False,” going instead with a collection of euphemisms such as “Exaggerated,” “A touch too Broad,” and “Needs more context.”
