Pathological Media Amnesia – CNN

  • Well, you see, it is totally different, because that was about Fox News…

As the announcement was made that another news outlet had been disinvited from the press pool, The Huffington Post, this allowed media maven Brian Stelter to once again launch into his brand of outrage that there is a right for them to be included and how this is further breaks the norms with the press in the White House.

Yet, as he takes this red-faced stance, along with his being bothered that the Associated Press had been excluded, Mr. Stelter seems to forget one key position he once held. In the early days of the Biden administration, Brian suggested Fox News should be removed from the White House pool, citing that it was considered a privilege to be included.

Huh, how about that, Brian?

Stealth Story Evolution – ASSOCIATED PRESS

  • When the details derail your desperation.

Some heads were turned initially when the AP came out with a report of a mass staff resignation taking place at the DOGE department. But what had been presented as a major uproar inside Elon Musk’s chainsaw department was something far more benign. As a result, the news syndicate was called out, and soon the headline was completely different.

Gone was the claim of DOGE resignations, and instead, the clarification now reads “Technology Staffers” quitting. This is because these were the holdover workers from the original Obama-created US Digital Service, from which DOGE was formed. These were employees likely to be departing in form or another fairly soon, so they went the PR angle in their allegedly indignant protest.

Presentation Paradox – ABC NEWS

  • Those statistics are not nearly as important as our outrage on the matter.

One of the consistent complaints about DOGE in the press has been the adverse effect the cuts have had on the National Parks Service. We have been given a series of weepy reports on the harsh impacts on the various parks and the employees. The favorite so far: The firing of the locksmith at one large park with the lone set of keys meant that visitors would likely become locked inside of restrooms.

ABC News got in on the hysteria, but the outlet made a crucial error; it provided conflicting facts. Aside from all of the calamities at our parks claimed in spite of Joe Biden pledging billions of dollars to them in recent years, we learn that although 1,000 jobs have been lost, they comprise less than 1% of the 410,000 parks employees. Then we get yet another disqualifying detail:

The Trump administration reversed a hiring freeze for seasonal National Parks Service employees, allowing the system to fill crucial roles to help maintain and operate popular parks ahead of the summer season, according to a memo obtained by ABC News. NPS will now be permitted to hire a total of 7,700 workers, according to the memo.

First Amendment Strike Force – The Bulwark

  • We are not so sure we would brag about this hiring.

Nina Jankowicz has resurfaced. If you forget, she was the galaxy brain Alejandro Mayorkas hired to head the government disinformation department, and that was soon disbanded when – ironically and hilariously enough – she and her new outfit came under fire on social media and were ridiculed into oblivion. They claimed that due to excessive misinformation, they had to shut down the office created to fight disinformation.

Nina has now resurfaced over at The Bulwark, and she stays on brand, delivering a column claiming Donald Trump is dispensing misinformation at the behest of Vladimir Putin.

Nina Jankowicz – and The Bulwark. The question lingers: which entity becomes diminished in quality by the other?

BlueAnon – WASHINGTON POST

  • What are we mad about here, exactly?

There has been a tremor felt across Washington, D.C., and the media landscape today. Jeff Bezos, owner of the Washington Post, came out with a new directive that will impact the editorial pages of his paper.

Just what kind of oppressive, outlandish, socially unacceptable demands has Bezos forced upon his paper? He wants it to begin to support personal liberty and free markets in this country.

And for this, some are calling him a Nazi.
