“Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.” — Proverbs 17:28
As we have been watching some of the performances of the progressive socialist leftists in these Trump cabinet nomination hearings, the sage wisdom of King Solomon comes to mind. As a young boy, when God came to Solomon and asked what He could bestow upon him, Solomon only asked for wisdom and discernment. God granted that upon Solomon beyond measure, and since he did not ask for personal riches, he was also given. There is no doubt that quite a few members of the Democrat party are lacking in wisdom, discernment, and just plain common sense. However, somehow, these politicians seem to always find a means by which they enrich themselves. Political insider trading?
The Democratic party is a ship in distress. It has no visible leader who can step in and right its listing vessel. Yet, it still embraces the anchor of progressive socialism, which is weighing down its ship. This is concurrent with constitutional conservatives putting several torpedoes into its ship.
But as we enter Black History Month, another group suffers from a lack of principled leadership. This group has been overtaken for years by incompetent charlatans who are now being exposed and unmasked. This group seemingly is awakening: the Black community.
Now, I am not going to propose that the American Black community in America is flipping to the Republican party. However, I will present that the Black community is starting to question those modern-day economic plantation overseers appointed by white leftists. I do see a shift in the Black community no longer blindly following, “just because.” Of course, there are those who still will swallow down the blue pill and prefer to stay in the Matrix of economic servitude and subservience to the white progressive socialist leftist Massa. But, this past election cycle is firm evidence that more are willing to take the Red pill and leave the artificial world...and that angers the machines, or should I say, the machine known as the Democrat party.
One by one we are witnessing these black political charlatans being unmasked. Consider the fall of Barack Obama and his insidious chastising of Black men for supporting Donald Trump. That little tirade of his went over like a lead balloon and will have some lasting damage. To insinuate that Black men did not support Kamala Harris because of some absurd case of misogyny was disrespectful. Obama has now been relegated to the ash heap of irrelevance, and rightfully so.

And then there was the charlatan who was propped up to run for president—Kamala Harris. I will say it and defend my assertion: Harris embodied the very insanity of DEI. She was the poster child for identity politics. When folks say, Colonel, but she was the first Black female Vice President, my response is, so what? The Army taught me about standards. My Dad admonished me to always “find out what the standard is and exceed it.” He did not teach me to leverage my skin color for an advantage. I sought to be the best because I wanted to be respected and regarded, not tolerated.
Two other charlatans have been unmasked and are Mayors of major American cities...Karen Bass and Brandon Johnson. It was an utter embarrassment to watch Mayor Bass, with whom I served in Congress, refuse to answer questions as she returned to Los Angeles from Africa at the airport. It was a further embarrassment to watch her be taken to school by President Donald Trump as her incompetence was revealed. And Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago, who is placing the needs of illegal immigrants over citizens, is obviously now a huge regret. Who would have ever thought they would see the day when Black citizens in Chicago would attend a City Council meeting wearing shirts saying, “Flip Chicago Red?”
And there are countless other Black charlatans who are being unmasked: Al Sharpton (Granddaddy of Black charlatans), Stacey Abrams, Michael Steele, Joy Reid, Sunny Hostin, Cory Booker, Hakeem Jeffries, Jasmine Crockett, Wes Moore (stolen valor).
This Black History Month, I hope the American Black community will return to studying and remembering Black men and women of principle—individuals like Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, Mary McLeod Bethune, and Madam C.J. Walker. Let us also remember those who stood against the odds, like Lieutenant Henry O. Flipper.
As for me? Well, this February, Black History Month, I am making a pilgrimage to Tuskegee, Alabama, namely Moton Field—the training airfield of the famed Tuskegee Airmen. I will be joining my Airborne buddies of the Round Canopy Parachute Team-USA in conducting commemorative jumps from World War II aircraft in remembrance of the 555th Parachute Infantry Regiment (Triple Nickels), the first group of Black paratroopers. They were also known as the innovators of SmokeJumping tactics, techniques, and procedures. And we will also be paying homage to the Tuskegee Airmen.
Those are the type of men we need today, not just in the Black community but in all communities. They represent what is best about America: the ability to pursue your dreams based upon an equality of opportunity, not an equality of outcomes. Charlatans embrace the latter and, in doing so, have wrought irreparable harm upon our Country.
Steadfast and Loyal.
