Abortion: America’s Worst Vice

American Founding Father Samuel Adams prophetically said, “It is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice. For they cannot live in any country where virtue and knowledge prevail.”

When Christian virtues exit, vice and tyrants fill the void. Has Donald Trump become less pro-life? To some extent, and he’s heard about it from me and others. But he’s still pro-life. The same could never be said of Kamala Harris or Tim Walz. Can a pro-lifer still vote for Donald Trump? Answer one question:

Will more babies die if Trump becomes President or if Harris does?

Harris claims Trump would impose a nationwide abortion ban. First, since SCOTUS sent the issue to the States, it would be impossible to sustain any such ban in court. Second, he has publicly denied it.

Harris used the accusation and scare tactic that a Trump ban would include a national “monitor that would be monitoring your pregnancies, your miscarriages.”

She then attempted to link the accusation and Trump to Project 2025. The 900-page proposal is largely Conservative, with contributions from some former Trump policy advisors, but Trump is not directly affiliated with it.

Nothing in the proposal recommends collecting miscarriage data. Collecting abortion data has been done by the WHO, the Guttmacher Institute and numerous Pro-Life organizations for over 50 years. None ever includes miscarriage data because it does not apply to the abortion debate.

Policy proposals are sent to Presidents annually by dozens of groups like the ACLU, SLPC and American Communist Party. Presidents are under no compulsion to implement, consider, or even read such proposals.

Further, Project 2025 is not exclusively for a Conservative or Republican President. The proposal is addressed to whichever candidate wins, telling its readers, “…one set of eyes reading these passages will be those of the 47th President of the United States…."

Is abortion America’s biggest vice? The dictionary definition of vice includes: “a sin…an immoral or evil habit or practice… depraved or degrading behavior….” According to the Bible, all vices are sins of indulgence, immorality or depravity in some form.

God hates all sin because “sin separates us from Him” (Isaiah 59:2). What about abortion? Many Scriptures apply, but Proverbs 6:16-19 lists “seven things the Lord hates.” Number three is, “hands that shed innocent blood.” We can argue weeks, motives and exceptions, but no abortion advocate has ever argued that pre-born babies are not innocent.

The Trump-Vance abortion responses have been mixed, but they will undoubtedly be more pro-life than Kamala-Walz. Vice President Harris, endorsed by Planned Parenthood, Reproductive Freedom for All, and others, has consistently said that if elected President and presented with a nationwide right-to-abortion bill, she would sign it.

There has never been a more radical presidential candidate than Harris, especially on abortion. She supports tax-payer-funded full-term unlimited abortion. Further, if the child is born alive in a botched abortion, she supports killing it after it is delivered!

2019 Senate Bill 311 would have prohibited “a health care practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion.” Then Senator Harris voted against the bill.

Tim Walz signed Minnesota legislation legalizing infanticide. Proponents denied the law would enable the killing of fully born babies, but in the years since, the results speak for themselves. National Catholic Register reports that since the bill was signed, of 24 babies born alive in Minnesota after abortion attempts, none were saved.

“But Trump is…” Fill in your favorite diatribe. I know this much about him from my interactions with the 45th President: He’s a lion. He’s unafraid (and untamed) by the politics of the swamp. It’s why they hate him. It’s why I trust Trump on abortion and other Conservative issues.

Do lions always reflect my morals? No. Will this lion stop roaring on Twitter (X)? Unlikely. Are lions perfect? Hardly, but I know this: When terrorists, jackals and donkeys abound, we need a lion in the Oval Office! And, as powerful nations likely position toward World War III, America needs a fearless leader. I’m Alex McFarland. I’m pro-life, and I invite you to reject the vices and join the lions.
