The modern left wishes to destroy the norms that have held societies together for ages.
One of the most poignant moments I remember from a movie came in The Killing Fields. In a reeducation camp, the communists are destroying all of the old norms so as to make them the sole arbiter of the country’s future. In one scene, in the dirt are stick figures: a parent is holding the hand of a child. One of the children being brainwashed erases with his hand the connection between parent and child. And with that, the foundation of Cambodian society was destroyed for decades to come.
If one wanted to look for a unifying principle of the Soros-USAID-Democrat left, it would be the destruction of norms. For hundreds or even thousands of years, certain behaviors and conventions kept families, towns, countries and societies together. The left—like the communists in the movies—realize that they need to destroy the norms in order to truly be in control. Let’s take an example. California and other states have passed or are considering laws that would allow the state to take away a child whose parents refuse to go along with the trans masquerade ball. For thousands of years, parents have been the accepted and legal guardians of their children except under extreme conditions of very problematic parents or children. But if we accept that parents make the decisions for their children until a certain age of responsibility is attained (legally, 18 or 21 depending on state and issue), then the move to remove children from their parents is a direct attack on the hallowed relationship between parents and their children. Rather than accept that “father knows best” or that the parents can override doctors and teachers, the state has intervened and declared that it is the proper guardian if the parents don’t play trans ball. This is a disgusting attack on the most important building block of society: the family.
But it is by no means the only attack. It is not a mere coincidence that marriage and birth rates are going down. In the past, many people got married young and had children. As formal religion is being replaced with a secular alternative by the left, young men and women see little advantage in being married and even less reason to have a child. Children are expensive, completely change one’s lifestyle and demand an enormous number of hours each day. They can be a challenge for a career and don’t seem to understand that night is for sleeping. Cats and dogs as alternatives can be sent to kennels for vacation and are far less expensive than a child going off to college.
Attacking the norms means not prosecuting criminals. The good guys, at about 98 percent of society, have to lock themselves in their homes because Soros DAs won’t lock up the 2 percent who are active criminals. Destroying norms means letting Jew-hating students run universities rather than have the actual administrators mete out punishment for those who violate university rules. Burying the norms includes having mediocre male athletes compete against girls and women and take their hardware. It is forcing those same women to share locker rooms and bathrooms with these guys, because the time-honored separation of men and women in sensitive areas must be taken down. Men and women aren’t equal in the eyes of our globalists: they are interchangeable. So men can give birth and there had better be female hygiene products in boys’ bathrooms.
Their targets include:
*The family
*Differences between the sexes
*Religious values as the guardrails for democracy
*Religion as a force in a person’s life
*Law enforcement as having the power to put away criminals
*The unique features of nation states
As for religion, I can give an example from this week. A group called “Women of the Wall” made their monthly provocation at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The group is no doubt funded by Soros, USAID or some deep-pocketed lefty billionaires. They do not like that the Western Wall plaza has always been treated as a Jewish Orthodox prayer center—long before the state of Israel was formed. Though offered a location of their own a hundred meters from the women’s section of the Western Wall, they consistently demand entry into the women’s section and organize prayer services according to Reform practice. They have brought a Torah scroll several times with them, though such practice is forbidden by the Israeli rabbinate. Their goal is to destroy the practice of prayer as performed by Jews for thousands of years. They see an orthodox prayer arrangement and do their all to alter it and destroy it. What irks me about these agitators is that if they were to go to Rome, Dubai or Mumbai and were told to take off their shoes or to remove their hats at some local religious site, they would do so in a second. But as Jews and when with Jews, they have decided that they have the right to change practices that have been accepted for ages.
Maybe the most basic assault on norms is the retreat from the truth. “Truth” used to be the final word in all disagreements, debates, or doubts. To win an argument meant to have the truth (and relevant facts and data) on your side. Not anymore. There are those on the left—and some on the right—who start with their conclusion and will not let any pesky facts get in the way. Objective data show that men are stronger and faster than women; even a woman who knocked 26 seconds off of the women’s world record marathon time last week is still nearly 15 minutes slower than the fastest man. But the left is not having it. Even accredited scientists, doctors, and others who do know better will not cross the truth line to admit that men have no place in women’s sports because they have physical advantages over the competition. The trans mania must be kept up at all costs, even at the expense of data, facts, empirical observation and plain old common sense. And thus the most basic norm—the baseline on which we can have any discussion or argument—is discarded so as to allow lunatics to claim that the world is heating up—against the data—and that men can give birth—against reality. It’s like the days before Google Translate—two people who speak different languages can no longer understand each other.
In order to destroy Western society, the left has attacked the norms that have served as the underpinnings of life for ages. Their program has no basis in reality so they need to end reality as we know it in order to force the population to embrace their demented vision of a better world. That renewables apparently collapsed Spain’s power grid this week will not make them rethink their climate lunacy. The worst part of the story is that Canada has just elected someone who buys into such distortions, Australia will do the same shortly and had the Democrats put forth a relatively normal candidate last year, the U.S. might have also continued down this destructive pathway.
