Why Are They So Angry?

One of the hallmarks of the left is their white-hot anger on virtually any issue. Why are they so furious?

Why are those on the left so angry? It doesn’t seem to matter if it is an anti-Israel protest or hatred directed towards Elon Musk. The behavior often displayed by those protesting all things Trump/Republican/Musk/Israel is often filled with anger and hatred. The desire to harm Trump was already expressed during his first run as president. But why are they so angry? Why are people destroying Tesla cars through their association with Elon Musk, who is rooting out waste and fraud from federal programs?

In days of yore, when it was liberals versus conservatives and not leftists against everybody else, there was some general respect between the sides. A politician arguing for more unemployment benefits could acknowledge that the other side had a point in wanting to demand work for government largess. When I was at Harvard, Cap Weinberger and Rev. Jerry Falwell spoke. And while the crowd would not agree with their views, one would have been hard-pressed to simply discount their thinking, which was empirical and fact-based. The underlying respect between individuals and sides meant that they could work together. Tip O’Neill and Ronald Reagan held widely different views but they could respect each other and, most importantly, work together.

With the rise of leftism, there is a certain intellectual snobbery that comes with the title. Those on the left, most of them university-educated, are not only called “elites” but actually see themselves as the same. People like John Kerry and Barack Obama see in themselves not just two simple Americans, like the other 335 million. Rather, they see themselves as intellectual leaders, as highly-trained members of an elite ruling clique, where membership has its privileges. Remember Kerry telling us that he was too important to fly commercial. Obama left office to acquire four homes, two of them very close to the oceans that he said would gobble up our coastlines. When one is convinced that he is superior to others, then there is no place for respect for the other side. We have seen it at times with “clingers,” “deplorables,” “garbage” and the like. Those on the left see themselves as superior to those who think differently than they do. And just as the Nazis allowed themselves to do whatever they wanted to Jews and other “untermenschen” (“lower beings”), the modern left feels no need for restraint when dealing with its political or intellectual opponents/inferiors.

Look at Tony Fauci. He had no problem telling the common folks that they needed to keep six feet between people. Schools and businesses closed, and life went south. Then years later he admitted that there was no scientific basis for such a ruling. He did everything to save the Wuhan Institute of Virology and blamed pangolins for the pandemic. He had funded the Chinese and did not want to admit that the frankenvirus was his grandson and that he played a key role in its creation. And as to the vaccines, he peddled them as the final solution for Covid. But as time marches on, there is a fair debate as to whether the vaccines did more harm than good, and nobody can fully quantify heart damage, excess deaths, and weakened immune systems that some are claiming to be outcomes of the mRNA vaccines.

Tony Blinken was in 2015 an undersecretary of State in the Obama administration. When we won our federal lawsuit against the PLO and Palestinian Authority (PA), we told the government to stay out of our civil case. For 11 years, they had not come in for or against us and we wanted it to stay that way. Instead, the State Department filed a Statement of Interest on behalf of the PA, signed by Blinken. Tony Blinken, and by extension John Kerry and Barack Obama, asked the court to go easy on the PA with a highly-reduced appeals bond. It never occurred to our “elite” diplomats to use the occasion of our substantial judgment to get the PA to settle with 11 American families whose loved ones had been killed and wounded by Palestinian terrorists. The thought never crossed their minds that instead of just coming out in favor of the PA, there was an opportunity to do good for fellow citizens by helping to settle the case. Instead, they asked the judge to go easy on the PA due to its tenuous finances. A few weeks later, the PA bought its head, Mahmud Abbas, a private plane.

The anger we see directed at Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Republicans, Jews, women athletes and others is an outcome of intellectual hubris. For those firebombing Tesla dealerships, Musk saving the country money or bringing stranded astronauts home is irrelevant. Though Musk is richer than all of them combined, he does not hold their intellectual positions. Could you, the reader, scratch up someone else’s car? Could you damage the property of someone whom you don’t even know? Of course not. But when you are smugly certain that you are superior to the person owning that car, simply “keying” the car is the least that this person deserves. Muslims hold Jews in contempt out of religious supremacism: only Islam is right. Their friends on the left checked their victim/victimizer charts, and lo and behold, the Jews are on the bad side of the equation. When one is convinced that he is morally superior or intellectually better than another, outrage is the product. “How dare you!” screamed Greta before she dropped the green shtick for a keffiyeh. The anger we see at all things Trump is due to a self-appointed belief in moral superiority. “How dare they think differently! Of course I must be right! I went to College University and have a degree in advanced hand waving!”

True intellectual greatness involves the recognition that one might be wrong. There are so many sides to an issue, that an honest person will look at them all as he formulates his position. The fake “elite” or “intellectual” holds on to an opinion that is convenient even if factually wrong. The New York Times of late cried that “we were deceived” as to the origin of the Covid virus. No, honey, you were one of the most prominent deceivers. Anyone who suggested that the virus fell out of the Wuhan lab was attacked by your scribblers as a lunatic and conspiracy nut.

The left is intellectually empty and stands for values and opinions that are not in the best interest of the United States or its citizens. Rather than look at its open borders and trans support as being wrongheaded, it would rather scream and angrily attack those who think that a closed border and women-only sports are better and safer for Americans. Their globalist views make pro-American ideas unacceptable.  Liberals and conservatives could talk and disagree. Leftists accept no opinion other than their own. And when they don’t get their way, their vocal chords take over.
