The UN has added to its anti-Israel Jew hatred. Big surprise.

Not long ago I wrote a piece on this website about the UN’s concerted effort to put Israel into the past tense. I listed three areas of endeavor where the UN made a push to weaken and eventually destroy Israel:

1. Inflate the number of Palestinian refugees so as to overwhelm the number of Jews living in Israel.

2. Provide all forms of support to Palestinian terror groups in order to help them inflict destruction on Israelis.

3. Rally the countries of the world against the Jewish state.

I failed to take into account that the UN has even more ways to harm the Jewish state in order to make sure that which Hitler did not finish off be dealt with over time. We can now add to the list UNIFIL, the special UN military detachment that is supposed to keep the peace in southern Lebanon.

Just as Israel’s entry into Gaza brought attention to the role of UNRWA in helping Hamas and other terror organizations, so too Israel’s ground incursion into Lebanon has shown that UNIFIL is Hezbollah in UN uniforms. UNRWA’s providing of salaries to employed terrorists, supplies, logistical support, and a physical plant made the October 7 attacks possible. Israel has identified a dozen UNRWA employees who participated in the murder and kidnapping of Israelis. UNRWA facilities were shown to be Hamas offices and UN supplies were critical for the terrorists’ activities. The situation in Lebanon is different but ultimately the same: how can we help anti-Israel elements to prepare for the military destruction of this horrible, no-good, bad, evil, etc. Zionist entity.

One might say that the lady doth protest too much, but there are historical records of the first individuals with personal knowledge of the Nazi extermination camps who were pooh-poohed for bringing fanciful stories of mass-murder beyond human capability. Until they were shown to be telling the truth.

“UNIFILTH” did not provide Hezbollah with the money and assistance that UNRWA did for Hamas in Gaza. Hezbollah is a far larger and richer organization than its Palestinian counterpart and gets enough from Iran and drug sales to eschew official UN aid. That which Hezbollah did receive from the fake soldiers of the UN is cover. As Israel feels comfortable enough to bring high-ranking officers and civilian reporters into southern Lebanon, the latter are beginning to report on what they have seen. Let’s start with the massive Hezbollah underground bunker 100 meters from a UN compound complete with a watchtower. Or the houses in UNIFIL-patrolled areas brimming with anti-tank and other weaponry. Indian soldiers who were part of a UN patrol were accused two decades ago of being present when several Israel soldiers were attacked and kidnapped by Hezbollah thugs. It is obvious from the amount of weaponry discovered, the presence of Hezbollah sites next to UNIFIL locations and a UN halftrack with a Hezbollah flag on it that the UN once again is on the side of a genocidal group that wants to be done with the Jews. The UNIFIL troops, whose mandate was to keep Hezbollah out of south Lebanon, did not lift a finger as the terror group filled houses with missiles, anti-tank weapons, RPGs and more. Maybe like Inspector Clouseau with the bank robbers, UNIFIL helped the tired and sweating Hezbollah members bring the weapons into the homes. It’s a shame that they did not borrow some Hezbollah beepers.

The behavior of UNIFIL is no surprise, as its mandate comes from the same institution that all but committed the 10/7 massacre as a joint project with Hamas. Don’t forget the released hostage who said that she was held in Gazan captivity by a UNRWA teacher. When Israel wounded several UNIFIL members due to their extraordinary proximity to Hezbollah fighters and locations, 40 countries providing soldiers to this outfit complained. Joe Biden, during a bout of consciousness, asked Israel to stop hitting the UN terrorists and only attack the Lebanese terrorists. Ireland, of course, is one of the main providers of soldiers for the group. And this is no surprise. There is no more Israel and Jew-hating country in Europe, including Russia, than Ireland. Ireland jumped at the chance to recognize a nonexistent Palestinian state. Its Taoiseach, or leader, said something amazing. A 9-year-old Irish girl was taken into Gaza and was released in the first and to date only exchange with Israel. The fellow said that the girl had been lost and had now been found. He made absolutely no mention of her being forcibly kidnapped and held against her will. No, she just entered a dark, mean forest and after 50 days miraculously walked out on the other side. Is it no surprise that Ireland refused to join the fight against the Nazis and that its then leader sent his condolences on Hitler’s death. They hate Jews and are cheering Hamas and Hezbollah and offering their support to the latter via UNIFIL. Birds of a feather….

There was a time long ago when if you wanted to see Pele play the top guy from England, you had to patiently wait four years for the World Cup. Players from different nations played locally and only met rarely at international competitions. But today, Argentina’s Messi and Portugal's Ronaldo could play against each other half a dozen times a year by virtue of their both being in the Spanish soccer league. The UN 70 years ago may have been needed when travel took days to weeks, when communication was often via letter, and news arrived days after events occurred. Today, in our interconnected world with instant information and communication, the UN is a relic of a bygone era—like drive-in movies that are gathering dust and tumbleweeds. The UN as a biased anti-Israel institution needs to go. And they can take their garbage soldiers from south Lebanon with them.
