The Democrats and Republicans are going off in wildly different directions. Over time, we will see that the American people will choose the path being forged by the New Republican Party.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, there was an intense competition between Boeing—which at the time was still a competent company—and Airbus. Both companies were making bets as to their futures and the direction of air travel. Airbus felt that it needed a competitor to the 747 and that long-haul routes, especially from Asia, with lots of passengers was the future of commercial aviation. Boeing made a different bet. It believed that a plane that could hold 200-300 people but would be radically more fuel efficient would appeal to the airlines and align with the routes and passenger loads. So who won? While both the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 are flying today, Boeing won hands-down. How do we know? Airbus has stopped production of the monster super-jumbo after 254 units were produced. Boeing has made over 1,100 of their carbon-fiber planes that boast 30 percent fuel efficiency over similar aluminum jets and new planes are still being produced. Airbus also got into the “plastic” plane business with their successful A350, which was certified to fly in 2014.
Like the two aviation heavyweights, the Democrats and Republicans are making bets on their futures and the direction of the United States. Tulsi Gabbard and Bobby Kennedy Jr. have very publicly thrown their support behind Donald Trump. While there is no question that if the three of them so choose, they could argue over points of policy and philosophy in which they have strong disagreement. Donald Trump is for more drilling and fracking; I would assume that Kennedy would not be as favorable. But as leaders before them, like Roosevelt and Churchill, they have decided that the points of agreement are more critical at this juncture in history. Democrats, whether famous or unknown, are leaving the party and joining a competitor which many of them thought that they would never consider. All of the major minority groups that make up the backbone of Democratic electoral support are showing greater poll numbers for Trump than any other Republican has ever enjoyed. Normal Democrats and Republicans have concluded that by finding points of agreement and not stressing points of contention, they can forge a new MAGA-Democratic Party hybrid that includes many traditional American values such as patriotism, men and women separate, low taxes, free speech, and energy independence.

The Democrats themselves are also redefining their future. They are trying to become more like European countries such as Labour’s Britain or Macron’s France. They envision an ever growing role for the government in an individual’s life, whether it be monitoring his or her social network posts or determining what products and at what prices they will be available to the public. The modern Democratic Party of Biden/AOC/Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren/Kamala Harris would love to tell you what car you can own, take away your gas stove, and give you an energy allowance based on much less energy being available from renewable sources only.
When Boeing and Airbus made their bets, they did so after much market research and analysis of historical aviation patterns. That they came to two different conclusions is no great surprise, as each read the markets and their potential growth in different ways. So too, the New Republican Party that includes Democrat moderates and the Socialist Democratic Party with its Hamas wing are also making assumptions about America’s future behavior. So who will win? As we see Kamala Harris’ poll numbers stagnate and weaken, it would appear that the Republicans have made the right bet. Let’s look at some issues and where these two new parties are holding relative to the American voters:
*Energy. Someone asked how Donald Trump could wave his magic wand and make food prices go down. Another answered that by deregulating energy and encouraging more hydrocarbon production, energy prices would drop. Energy required for food and goods production as well as their transport to market would become cheaper, as would the final products themselves. Every major car manufacturer is either annulling his vow to go only electric and/or reducing electric car production. Consumers in the US and elsewhere are not turning onto electric vehicles. And while the Democrats would like to mandate them, the Republicans realize that cheap, reliable and US-produced energy is what most Americans want. They want low gas prices, reasonable electricity and heating bills, and a full choice of cars best for their needs. The Democrats do not understand the electorate and wish to make it bend to its will.
*Women. The Democrats have been the champions of abortion, and used their position on the subject to effectively blunt a 2022 “red wave” of Republican victories. While many pro-life voters are disappointed with President Trump's position of states making their own laws, the former president understands that the US is not monolithic and there is a genuine desire for some level of abortion access. While the Democrats claim to be the party of women and their right to choose (something that was denied to all of us with respect to the Covid vaccines), Democrats have come out squarely against women with their unqualified support for trans mania. Most Americans do not like the idea of children being sterilized and being given drugs and surgeries that they do not need. Most Americans also are not comfortable with a guy who grew his hair out taking the women’s hardware at sporting events. The Democrats have gone to 11 with their support for people who have personal issues and find solace in pretending to be the sex that they are not. While abortion may have helped the Democrats in the past, their unabated support for children being damaged because a girl picked up a football or a little boy played with a doll simply does not wash with most Americans.
*Immigration. This subject alone should be enough to destroy the Socialist Democratic Party. Just as women have been shoved aside for trans, blacks are noticing in New York and Chicago that politicians are throwing their favors no longer at them but rather at illegal aliens who have come to those big cities. The uncontrolled immigration and entry of millions of illegal aliens from countries throughout the globe does not sit well with American citizens. Sure, there is some percentage that likes getting cheap labor to pick tomatoes and others who enjoy a cheap nanny and cook. But there are millions of Americans—such as those in Springfield, Ohio—who are feeling the pain of bringing in so many unvetted foreigners. Towns and cities across the country cannot handle the costs and dislocations of people coming and needing housing, food, medical services and schooling. The left laughed at a Venezuelan gang taking over an Aurora, Colorado, apartment building—until it was shown to be quite true. Americans are not interested in uncontrolled immigration and many agree with Donald Trump that those who came illegally need to be shown the door.
*Guns. After Kamala Harris said that she owned a gun, I was surprised that no one asked her to prove it. If she could not provide a gun license or purchase receipt, then it would be one more lie in her collection. If she could actually prove gun ownership, it would darken her reputation with the many people on her side who want not only gun buybacks but simple disarmament of the American people. The party of Trump supports traditional gun rights, while Harris and her friends would start with mandatory buybacks and try to legislate illegality of gun ownership. Americans own over 400 million personal firearms. Americans want to keep their guns.
The Democrats and Republicans are making bets as to their futures and that of the United States. It is telling to note that there was no effort before or after to keep Gabbard to Kennedy in the fold. Their announcements led to no rending of garments over at the DNC. The party has taken a new direction and people like them do not fit into the puzzle any longer. Donald Trump and Republicans received the two with open arms. The Trump Republican Party is becoming an amalgam of traditional American values accepted by Republicans and Democrats alike. The Democrats are moving towards a socialist future, one that does not mesh with the Constitutional focus on the individual and his rights. I believe that Americans will choose the Republicans and in doing so repudiate the uncontrolled leftward swing in the party that once represented the working man and downtrodden.
