Our Institutions Are Burning Themselves Down

One institution after another is destroying itself, its credibility, and its influence.

Something interesting just happened. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered Israel to stop its offensive in Rafah. Israel will not stop its offensive in Rafah, where it has found hundreds of tunnels, many of them heading toward Egypt. Even if the Security Council takes up the court order and the US again stabs Israel in the back and orders to end the fighting, Israel will continue. Wars are fought for victory and are not subject to bureaucratic meddling. By demanding that Israel stop fighting a critical part of its campaign to destroy Hamas, the ICJ has shown that it cannot stop Israel and is a paper tiger.

This empty ICJ order is one more step in the decline of the post-war major institutions that for seventy years have played outsized roles in world affairs. Just as Israel will completely ignore the ICJ ruling, other institutions such as the FBI and DoJ have beclowned themselves to the point where nobody believes them any longer. Our medical establishment lied about the origin of the COVID-19 virus, the usefulness of masks and distancing, and the efficacy of quickly whipped-up vaccines. The media lie about Donald Trump, accusing him of crimes that no one else has been accused of. They have become the functional propaganda arm of the Democratic Party, telling us that a president in clear cognitive decline is sharp as a tack. Nobody believes the mainstream news any longer.

What we are witnessing is the self-destruction of major institutions, national and international. The UN, through its billion-dollar UNRWA office, was an active part of Hamas’ activities in Gaza. Their staff and facilities provided Hamas with a large part of their manpower and infrastructure. In a few years, they may conclude that without UN aid in the form of food, locations, manpower, and money, the 10/7 attacks might not have been possible.

The universities have made complete fools of themselves. Professors, once highly-respected scholars, wear reflective vests and run interference for their demented students. Those students, after four years and hundreds of thousands of dollars spent, don’t know which river to which sea, could not find Gaza on a map, and are completely clueless as to what actually happened on 10/7. I remember once coming back to my dorm in Harvard Yard in 1984. I saw a typical site: a young man in a blue blazer accompanied by his parents for their pre-application Harvard visit. What happened next was that the guys on the fourth floor put their big speakers in the window and blasted out Back in Black by AC/DC. The three visitors below were frozen in shock: this is Harvard? And now after months of pro-rapist, pro-murderer protests, we all look at the universities and scoff: this is higher education?

A minister in Spain, in explaining their recognition of “Palestine” said that they want to see Palestine “from the river to the sea”. She did not explain what is supposed to happen to Israel or by what manner its 9 million Jews are supposed to be made to vanish. Spain, Ireland, and Norway cannot wish a Palestinian state by recognizing one. The first outcome of their decree was the Palestinian Authority (PA) losing billions of shekels of customs money that Israel collected for it. The second result was that Israelis see the Europeans as politically impotent as they truly are. Germany promised to honor any arrest warrants against Israeli leaders that the International Criminal Court (ICC) may issue. The entire Knesset, left and right, came out against these proposed arrest warrants. Germany will lose its formerly growing influence in Israel. It’s being destroyed from within by excess uncontrolled immigration and the right-wing AfD reaction to it. Somewhere in the bowels of hell, Heinrich Heydrich is smiling that they are still trying to catch Jews.

Hollywood used to be the source of American entertainment. Hollywood made the movies and later TV shows that kept Americans busy and entertained. Those days are mostly behind us. Today, movie studios insist on lecturing or looking down on the audience. The movies seem to be all the same: a 100-pound woman throws around 250-pound wrestlers and the bad guys are all white, while the good guys are necessarily female, black, gay, and/or trans. The movies lose tens of millions of dollars apiece, and instead of learning that people do not like their product, they blame COVID or the audience for their poor box office performance. People will wait for a third installment of Top Gun, even if it has Tom Cruise tooling around a Navy nursing home in a tactical wheelchair, trying to bomb the kitchen. People are tired of Hollywood, once the darling of American culture, putting out movies that people do not want to see.

The Trump trials have shredded what little respect was left for the fairness of the US judiciary. The judges stack every procedure and activity against the former president. Even in one case, a new law had to be passed so as to allow for Trump to be sued decades after the supposed crime. People are noticing and Trump’s popularity only goes up the longer his trials continue.

In the past, Hezbollah was not nearly as accurate in its fire, and during the Second Lebanon War in 2006, they caused many forest fires. After the war finished, we went up north and saw the blackened forests. We also saw the new shoots and the beginning of new growth, which today is full and lush. The old liberal institutions that were the bedrock of Western Civilization have shown themselves worthless, worried more with fidelity to ideology than truth. Nobody listens to the ICC, the ICJ, or the UN while people see Trump prosecuted by a weaponized judiciary. These institutions will die and be replaced by better ones. Look at Argentina where a new leader came in and fired 24,000 civil servants to reinvigorate the country’s lethargic economy. This and similar websites offer news based on the truth and not rigid ideologies that cannot be crossed. New and better institutions will come out of the ashes of those that are destroying themselves today. Our current institutions, like the sinking Bismark, are firing off their last salvos before they go under the waves for good.
